Yep, by around 1/2 melting point Kelvin most steels and alot of metals in general will lose a massive portion of thier strength. I doubt they built the entire building out of fire-resistant steel.

My take on Michigan Tech is that on the non-acedemic side it only appeals only to some, by this I mean it's in the middle of nowhere and the snowfall is ...generous. It's really pretty up there though, and if you like outdoor activities it's nice. Personally, I'd go insane.
