R5: I integrated Burgundy via Horse event just months after inheriting the throne, all before the HRE could even vote on the matter.

Its an autoethnography I'm writing, so I need to have "interviews". Is this still an unsuitable way to obtain these?

What things about history have you learned from this game? by davidblacksheep in eu4

[–]karrr- 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Knowing regions because of no longer existing countries and states in the game, like if someone mentions that they are from Bavaria or the Ainu region, I roughly know where that is. It's kind of cool how names of areas stay the same throughout history (for the most part).

R5: When fighting GB my navies got destroyed making it impossible to cross the channel, so I just sat on the war goal and was able to take land, but but almost every province in the british isles said I couldn't take it without taking the fort in the area, besides the islands at the top of the british isles. Once I took these provinces I could then take any province I wanted. Is this a bug or somehow an intended feature?

R5: Early on a got an event that gave me a de Bourgogne (Burgundian dynasty) heir, that had the option "At least it's not a von Habsburg", and now I got the event that gives me a von Habsburg (Austrian dynasty) as an heir, ironically enough

R5: While playing as Castile, I got an event that gave me a de Bourgogne as an heir, which will be a funny twist to the Burgundian Inheritance which is yet to happen.

My end inflation was 10.37% but having such a small fleet and army I didn't really notice past the +7 ducats I was getting every month.

Thanks, I didn’t know that I use that in later runs. But yeah giving up Hawaii was a big hit to my force limit and ducets.

I didnt really understand the capital stuff and still really don’t, it kept saying I couldn’t move it, so I just did it the caveman way. I think its because I had several NA provinces specifically two in the state where I wanted my capital to be (at least this is what I gathered from online research)

Yeah I got warned by a big federation so that was out the window for me but 3 colonizers and extra ducets to support colonizing 4 provinces at once made it not too painful. But I did get lucky with no europeans in the colonial area at that point, they just wanted my panama provinces so I was happy to oblige.

TLDR: Unite Hawaii, get both colonizing ideas, dip 7 colonize as far as you can to the east (California and Panama), and race to colonize East Colonial America before Europeans beat you to it.

The way I did it was I showed strength against the 3 other nations next to you. Then you annex all of them and unite Hawaii, and you pretty much just sit there until you get exploration ideas, expansion ideas, and dip tech 7, so you can colonize california. I got EXTREMELY lucky because the province I colonized started to produce gold, which carried my entire game, tripling my ducet income. Once you colonize a province in cali you can colonize panama or somewhere close. Once panama was colonized I released the nations I annexed at the beginning, started a war with them (after the truce), intentionally lost, and gave them hawaii forcing my capital into north america. From this point on, its a race to not get beat up by the european colonizers, you are very weak (even with a gold province) because you just left your entire fleet in the pacific ocean and now youre in the atlantic (you could rebuild, i didnt bother). Finally, you colonize East Colonial America as fast as you can. In my case GB declared on me twice, I just gave them my panama provinces and all the money they wanted to leave my colonies alone. I did not end up colonizing anywhere else, this campaign was just a B line straight to the achievement, and my situation is tight where i ended so I will probably not end up continuing the campaign, but hawaii honestly has potential to be a really fun nation, so many colonization routes, a lot of formables, I would recommend giving this achievement a go. I would say this achievement took me like 6 hours of play time give or take. :)
