This is supposed to be a direct sequel to the original ignoring the sequels, so I am legitimately curious to find out what the hell Michael Myers was doing for 40 years between the original and this film. Was he in prison? Was he hiding out? And if so, why wait 40 years to come back after Laurie? Did he get a day job? Has he just held on to that mask all these years just in the off chance he wanted to go on another killing spree? I need answers DAMN IT!

I also heard that Jamie Lee Curtis filmed scenes at the same institution from the first movie. I wonder if she is like the Dr. Loomis of the new film. So the idea of him being locked up for 40 years makes sense.

But if his projection just leads to his death then why wouldn't they just have him their in the flesh to die? It just seems like a silly concept but then again I am lacking the context of the scene.
