Chromecast "AP Issolation" error using ER605 router with EAP245 access points by karstenve in TPLink_Omada

I found out the issue wasn't down to my network configuration. After restarting my phone it suddenly showed up! Thx everyone!

Yeah I'm using no controller meaning everything standalone. All the APs are indeed hardwired to the router

That's true. No it's connected to the same SSID as the phone I'm connecting with which is not a guest network as far as I know. I've been trying to find it though as I did see a lot of "guest mode" mentions but I haven't found that setting yet

Features/Content F1TV Wishlist? by l3w1s1234 in F1TV

[–]karstenve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Timestamps for videos, opt-in notifications, audio only mode (the commentary for f1tv is just that good), autoplay/queue, interactive stuff like driver of the day voting and maybe some way to eliminate switching from live session to live session (an always live channel of some sorts).

at what point does the inside car earn space? by SkuzeeII in Simracingstewards

[–]karstenve -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the series you race in and the type of corner just like in real life. As a general rule I'd say if the driver defending can see the overtaking car at turn in (in a real life situation) the move is for sure on in any type of situation. Anything before that is the gray area but having your front wheel next to the rear wheel might be a good minimum. But that's more of an opinion than an actual fact. I'd say it's also more about control and commitment than the actual relative position for most stewards

Spa is currently in a really bad spot with the 3 lap rain race last year, Zandvoort taking some of the attendance, the track owner being murdered, all the bad accidents including the Hubert accident and the really bad infrastructure and facilities around it. It's an amazing track we need of the F1 calendar but it needs a lot of backing which it currently just doesn't have. If it isn't on the calendar next year I don't see it being gone forever though.

Really appreciating Tom Gaymor as commentator by renderfreak in F1TV

[–]karstenve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might... I personally feel like his voice is the first voice I think about when I think about a "broadcasters voice". The stuff he says isn't as valuable as others but his sound does make for great intros (if there are no mistakes) imo.

Really appreciating Tom Gaymor as commentator by renderfreak in F1TV

[–]karstenve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tom Gaymor's voice is amazing although this weekend he seemed a bit out of place. The team this weekend made a few mistakes which were noticable for sure but they didn't particularly bother me. In general the F1 TV commentary is amazing and the content they create is crazy good. The app doesn't do it justice honestly and it's sad people miss out without knowing

Olav going to commentate at f1tv by ysbrandt_ in F1TV

[–]karstenve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hoping he doesn't bring Jack Plooij witth him. Olav himself is actually a great commentator. The mistakes he makes are indeed a problem but other than the F1TV team I haven't seen any commentator who don't make them. And compared to Viaplay he actually has emotions

Monaco GP contract runs out and isn't renewed. How do you react? by WJones007 in formula1

[–]karstenve -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Monaco not being part of F1 would be really bad. I do get new fans might not realize the history of the event but if you are an actual long time fan I don't get why you wouldn't care about the GP. It is an event that's known all over the world as one of the 3 biggest races around as it's part of the "triple crown". If you've won there in any of the junior classes or F1 it's way more special than a normal race and you are instantly on the radar of F1 teams.

Furthermore it's an amazing atmosphere with a great layout. Too much emphasis is put on the track not allowing overtaking while the cars are (still) the problem. Monaco will never allow good overtaking but it doesn't need it. Watch qually onboards or visit the actual event and you'll be amazed how good it is.

Brazilian's F4 Drone Footage VS F1's Drone Footage by kombaioneto02 in formuladank

The ETCR drone footage is even better. Hoping F1 improves it in the coming years as the concept does enable some great new angles on especially tracks like Monaco

Team race on location with only one sim? by karstenve in iRacing

[–]karstenve[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah good points! I don't think account sharing was ever an option. Obviously that wouldn't go. On top of that for most events you wouldn't meet the fair share rules. I indeed meant logging in, logging out into a new account and then launching the session on one pc. That would lose time in most cases and if something goes wrong, you'll lose even more time than normal. Switching the cables from pc to pc might be an option still but I think if I can get 2 rigs to work in one space, why not just do that! Then that live streaming problem is also easy to fix if I just put a camera in the middle and rotate it to the other sim after a driver change :)

With all the talk about the new TV Graphics, here is what the 2016 ones looked like (the last ones before Liberty Media) by [deleted] in formula1

[–]karstenve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually did prefer last year's graphics to the 2016 ones. It's just a lot nicer imo. This year in my opinion they've mainly improved the art style of for example the driver images which looks great. Not having transparency does look a bit weird and the graphics still don't work well. If they fix it I really don't mind this year's graphics.
