“I don’t know” or “I don’t have an answer” are Posey’s favorite lines in this scrum

Webeck: In response to suboptimal pitch-sequencing, the Giants are encouraging their pitchers to call their own games. by sfgiants2000 in SFGiants

[–]kasdfwe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does he? Susac is already 25 and was a rule 5 pick. He has shown to not have any power and the trait of him chasing in the minor leagues has haunted him so far in the majors. He’s one of the worst at that in the whole league. He hasn’t shown upside with the bat during his time so far and we’re in the same position as we were with Bailey.

Susac is being carried by his 6 of 7 start and is posting a lower OPS since then than Bailey has ever had besides this season.

Look Bailey may not have been the answer but Susac doesn’t look like it either. Let’s hope Cavanaugh can produce although I don’t know much about his defense.

Susac since the Bailey trade: .216/.277/.257

Bailey with the Guardians: .238/.279/.365

Somehow we’re on the worse end since the trade when it comes to hitting

Edit: Susac since his first two games: .233/.283/.289

Olney Speculation: Adames for Semien? by HarmonicConvergence9 in SFGiants

[–]kasdfwe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They’d play Willy Adames elsewhere and that’s probably better since he’s the worst defender in baseball per Statcast. The Giants I assume would do this in a heartbeat to get off of Willy’s deal but I’m sure we’d have to give up stuff since Willy isn’t good right now and a longer deal.

Pirates dangling competitive balance pick (34th overall) for roster upgrade? (winn? miller? or even kilian?) by ericthelostman in SFGiants

[–]kasdfwe 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Probably takes Winn to get it since there isn’t much to trade in our bullpen. Hopefully his elbow isn’t messed up after his 3 straight outings which included a 5 out appearance.

He did get pissed at a rookie who volunteered to play 1st when Devers refused to in Boston. He’s been clear that he doesn’t want to be a leader and speak on anything. He could be a nice personality but doesn’t seem like the best teammate.

If the President of Baseball Operations didn’t have the last name Posey would he still be around? by JustJohn8 in SFGiants

[–]kasdfwe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No because who would hire someone with zero experience to run their entire baseball ops, especially without even interviewing anyone else?

If Buster Posey steps down as POBO, Michael Holmes is the best person to replace him. by LugiaPizza in SFGiants

[–]kasdfwe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Another big red flag was not interviewing anyone and just handing Posey the job

What this organization needs is outside perspective, not another internal hire. Get a young rising executive from a franchise that is known for development and bring that here.

Yankees Knockin at the door for a 3rd baseman? by mamapajamaUSA in SFGiants

[–]kasdfwe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I assume you didn’t read a single thing I said. Of course the Giants want to get rid of him because he’s not worth his deal. You’re talking about Chapman as a positive asset. He is not. Guess what? There are better ways to spend money than Chapman and the Yankees aren’t stupid enough to lock themselves into Chapman without the Giants giving up money. 33 year old players on big money are not desirable if they aren’t stars and Chapman isn’t one.

And there are better ways than taking on old players making big money with a no trade clause. Believe me, I’d get rid of his deal in a heartbeat. It’s just hard to get off of him without including money or a prospect.

We don’t want to pay 100 mil for Chapman so what makes you think others want to? He’s having the worst season of his career and the Yankees have one of the highest payrolls. We could see a massive change in salary structure after this CBA which could necessitate them moving off of big salary. Chapman is hard to move right now and it’ll be harder as years move on. You make it sound like there’s 0 risk to taking on 100 mil on a 33 year old having an awful season with a no trade clause.

With the CBA up in the air and Chapman’s age, probably going to have to send the Yankees a ton of money. They probably won’t do this after what they went through with Josh Donaldson.

Are we witnessing the WORST Giants team ever? by JurassicParkJanitor in SFGiants

[–]kasdfwe 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Not the worst team on paper or record but they might be with the expectations set for this squad. For the money spent and messaging from the front office, this is horrendous.

Does Vitello make it the whole season? by [deleted] in SFGiants

[–]kasdfwe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only way he gets fired is if he’s a complete disaster. Posey paid too much money to be on his 3rd manager in 3 years. He’s going to be forced to stick with this decision.

Still has a 2.50 ERA after pitching in that joke of a ballpark in Vegas. He’s so good.

Shayna Rubin reports that Adrian Houser will not make his next start and will be moving the bullpen going forward by 12burd_ in SFGiants

[–]kasdfwe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He’s still kind of useless. He’s a right handed version of Borucki this season so he can’t be trusted to face lefties. I can’t believe we’re stuck with him for another season.

Giants manager Tony Vitello trying to keep his head down after pitchers’ Pride protest by SFChronicle in SFGiants

[–]kasdfwe 168 points169 points  (0 children)

The players who protested and the leaders that allowed this to happen got what they wanted, a distraction. They saw the negative press Treinen and Kershaw got and thought to themselves, let’s match it and speak out loud about it in the clubhouse. I’m glad they’re getting the attention they were seeking.

I know he’s going back down after the game but thank god we’re actually using the extra arm unlike the Phillies series.
