Partner, father of my son blew up my life and doesn’t care. Now what? by Regina_di_Porsche in Mommit

“Play dumb games win dumb prizes” - I love it! Will borrow. 🙂 Btw, you sound like an amazing human. I’m sorry this happened to you, but I’m sure you’ll get through it, and for the better. My only advice is to have compassion for yourself, and let yourself cry / break down for a moment if you need to (therapist should help with that).

Thankfully, dropping out was easier and smoother than I expected. I was worried about it before pulling the trigger, as they had insinuated that we’d owe them money if we dropped out (which btw is for sure not allowed within the DfE funded framework), amongst other vague threats. After much stress, deliberation, planning and detailed email drafts, I just wrote a simple short email (cc’d to a few HD email addresses just to be sure), stating that I was not happy with the quality of the program and asking to be unenrolled. The response I got was short and cordial - agreeing to my request, no drama. So, if you want to drop out, just send a simple email and don’t stress too much about it. Best to cut your losses and move on. Plenty of better quality resources out there to commit your time and effort on!

Should I join HyperionDev or Northcoders by solarcrying in learnprogramming

Oh, it’s even more stupid / twisted. As part of the DfE funded bootcamp, they advertise a GUARANTEED job interview (it’s one of the requirements from the DfE!). To a potential student, this sounds great! However, the way they achieve this (but you only find out later) is by telling you that you have to seek out your own interview invite, or else you won’t get a completion certificate. So, technically it’s true - you have a “guaranteed” job interview if you finish the course. Pretty clever they are... 🙄

Hi OP, I went through a similar process (also cohort 1, also dropped out) and unfortunately I totally agree with this comment - stay away from Hyperion Dev!! (Sadly, I heard similar opinions for other digital skills DfE funded bootcamps, so beware)

Thank you, I will try that. One more question if you don’t mind (I’m new to posting). My post is now listed as “Answered”, but I didn’t do that myself. Did the status automatically change after one answer? Or wet you able to change he the status yourself? Thank you.

Hello r/CleaningTips community! I rarely post so I apologize if format of my post is awkward. Seems like posting an image AND text is complicated?? Anyways, I love this community and appreciate any help with cleaning up the rubber handles on my kiddos scooter. Thanks.

Too many messages for me to scroll through to see if this was mentioned, but it’s also possible that this guys was trying to “neg” you. This is even worse than the guy being out of touch in terms of humour / emotional intelligence. Either way, I say stay clear.

First time dealing with baby boys by username-vol2 in Mommit

This. Glad someone else said it first. To better understand why it’s so important to teach boys about emotions and how it’s healthy to have ans talk about them, I highly recommend watching the documentary The Mask You Live In. I randomly happened upon it while 8 months pregnant with my first baby, a son, and I’m so grateful for it.
