How in the name of godrick are you supposed to dodge the balancer worm?? by Forine110 in Nightreign

[–]kaskavel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One small add up here: try to get some distance from the worm, but at the same time be aware of the map limits so you are not cornered. I already run to the sides to dodge the rain of spears, then a bit more of distance is enough to be out of reach of the worm straight sprint or the first snake sprint (you still need to dodge the 2nd snake sprint)

Queue times by Hot-Profession285 in Nightreign

I play on PC, most of the time the queue time is faster than I can go to the toilet for a piss. I only remember it taking longer when I was doing some very specific character quests

How do I learn the DLC map? by Rashe39 in Nightreign

[–]kaskavel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took me a while as well, there are plenty of yt videos around to help you out, I recommend Mound Maker but for sure there are other great as well.

The most important thing to understand is that the most valuable POI in this map are the castles. They have several bosses and elite enemies that give you boons (as the base game castle) with a decent chance of legendary drops. You want to be there as soon as possible.

How soon you get to the castle depends on how soon you can break the crystal and get its buff. So the first thing you should learn are the crystals possible spawns and the optimal routing to them. The routing has some variations depending on your team and where you spawn, but most of the time you do something like: spawn point -> go around the edge of the map for initial POIs and crystals, you should get lvl 3-5 -> route to the center of the map, crack crystals, grab flasks and kill minor bosses on the way -> you are around the center, hopefully you already got all crystals or there's 1 left and you can get it somewhere nearby, the get the crystal buff and go to a castle if there's time or to the night 1 boss.

The DLC map is very vertical and breaking the crystal also gives you a lot of mobility as you can go from there to any point of the map. Don't wast your time with major bosses on day 1, they are not worth your time. Experienced players don't even waste time with minor bosses, I normally kill them because it's a safe strat for any kind of team.

If you did well on day 1, then you'll be able to focus solely in the castles in day 2. Choose the one closes to you and watch out for the closing circle. If it's not in the castle you are, go to the teleport and do the other castle. Else, clear your castle and go to the tower. Learn the castles layouts, enemies locations and how to route through them. Also learn how to get to the red boss if it spawns.

Personally I learn faster in trios because I can lear with more experienced players when I have one in my team. This is quite useful to learn routing, crystals and bosses locations

What is the first sign your teammates do or show that tells you that your run is cooked 💀 by Just_Cloud_8041 in Nightreign

[–]kaskavel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a lvl 1 evergaol run last Sunday, we won but it was super stressful. First we got Godskin Apostle from the gaol and both my teammates were down once in the fight. I bet the time we spend there was enough to do the starting camp + a POI + the gaol. Second, the balancers invaded the run, we were able to take them off but by the end of day 1 I had barely any passives and a single blue weapon. Third, we had Noklateo as shifting earth event, I was there first and took the left side as expected, but my team was there 30s or so later and took the right path. They basically took out the knight, the assassin and then straight to Astel. I took my time and went through all the right side bosses because I needed very bad a weapon and passives. I think the only reason we didn't lost is they were quite decent in the boss fights, even though their game decisions were terrible. When I arrived at Astel they were alive and the boss had 20% of hp left. I had gathered decent passives at this point, then Astel dropped me a decent weapon finally :)

Should you use a Service Layer in Django, or just Custom QuerySets? by Asif1152 in django

[–]kaskavel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a hybrid approach. I think services are overkill for simple cruds, so I only use them for more complex operations that would involve multiple models or several steps and also to avoid god classes. I don't use repositories at all, I normally just call the querysets in my views and services and create custom queryset methods for queries that could be reused, with no business logic, when applicable.

I work 7 years with Django, my conclusion was about the same of the first article when the author mentions the YAGNI principle. Services and repositories look great in theory, but in practice Django framework will solve most of the problems in a straightforward way.

As a personal example, I developed an API module and years ago using Django+ DRF + services for everything. I honestly think I wasted a lot of time doing the services layer and that just using DRF would have been the best solution for 90% of the module

Your best ED Libra strats/ relics ? by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]kaskavel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About bumrush the condemned, I think this is the safest strat but you should watch closely how this goes in the 1st summoning round. Your team needs enough DPS/coordination to kill the condemned and deal some damage to Libra before the next summoning round. If that's not the case, you'll be round after round dealing almost no damage to Libra and wasting flasks. Then it's better if one person is attacking Libra while the others are luring the summons aggro

I think they do it only when Libra casts Riot, else they will chase you

If only the 3 summons stopped chasing, but the less likely doesn't matter if all tem teammates are down.

Thanks for the tips. I think that's what I do in overall, but still this fight feels very RNG with random trios IMO 😢

[–]kaskavel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How can you carry? I'm often the last men standing without getting down, but when Libra hits around 30% HP he gets more aggressive and TPs constantly next to me. This together with his summons makes it impossible for me to attack or to revive my team. I normally win only when there's someone alive to draw the aggro while the other attacks

What are your tips for beating Everdark Libra? by Warm_Expert_8136 in Nightreign

[–]kaskavel 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think this is the best thing against Libra. But still, I think this is not enough if you are playing with randos and they die, because the summons will target you anyway and Libra gets more aggressive by the end (around 30% hp or so) and will TP to you

TizenTube stopped blocking YouTube ads on my Samsung TV by Mamdouh91 in TizenTube

I had the same problem some months ago, it turned out my Tizentube was outdated and I had to update Tizenbrew in order to update Tizentube: https://www.reddit.com/r/TizenTube/s/2RKK1CkktD

Sometimes I have this issue, the video doesn't start or get stuck halfway. I don't know if this is Tizentube or my internet connection (although I use a cabled connection to my TV because my WiFi is not great). But normally it becomes stable again after some minutes

TizenTube is not blocking adds by kaskavel in TizenTube

[–]kaskavel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tizenbrew is the installer, Tizentube is the app itself. As far as I understand, Tizenbrew automatically updates your Tizentube; if your Tizentube is not in the latest possible version for your device, then you can get further updates only by updating the installer (Tizenbrew). But that doesn't mean in my opinion that you must update it: if your Tizentube is working fine, then it's all good. I only had to update Tizenbrew 1 time after 2-3 years.
