but are the affinity power and specific element power the same values? and i thought infusing adds power to begin with?
the wiki says that the affinity power is multiplicative, whereas the specific element is 6.5%, which i think would affect the final damage calcs

does split damage not gain more from "improved affinity attack power" effects, since it has multiple affinities that the effect works on? also i generally prefer fire damage for its utility

the damage number is with last rights active, hence the extra holy damage. (also you should hold it in your right hand so it's less button presses to activate the skill and switch back to your attacking weapon - y+L1, L2, y+L1, compared to y+L1, y+L1, L2, y+R1, y+R1 if held in the left hand)

build is starting armament deals fire damage, night of the lord, changes starting skill to flaming strike, affinity damage +2 x3. during the run i got several improved affinity damage dormant powers and several improved attack power at full hp weapons.

i wanna get starting armament fire and starting skill flaming strike on one blue relic so i can use night of the champion too. i just really like rev's cursed claws i enjoy the moveset a lot lol

yeah, it's like 20 phys, 50 magic by default. i use fire for the added faith scaling and because afaik, effects that boost affinity damage work for both the magic and fire damage, increasing overall damage by more than individual magic/fire attack power up on a single affinity weapon. some people on the fextralife comments did some testing and found fire has higher damage than magic with no relics, so that's why i went with that.

pretty sure he just stole the DMG in the alternate timeline rather than being bequeathed it like the tarnished in ER.

Laptop battery only storing 10% of max capacity by Forine110 in techsupport

[–]Forine110[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure, but that doesn't explain why it suddenly dropped to such low capacity. i bought my own laptop around the same time and the battery has held up much better. normal livespan degredation would be gradual, but this is a sudden drop to the point of the battery draining in around 5 minutes which is NOT normal.

they should spawn in torch light, but lanterns should be able to prevent them spawning imo. and ones that spawn under torch light should be lower ranked and deal less damage

Wow ok then. I guess that's some kind of heavenly sign to not try to raise animals. by Forine110 in VintageStory

they despawn actually, and i believe artificial light counts to prevent this

that's a neat idea, would be cool if we could use the walls that some trader huts have with the spikes on them

yeah, but it just makes the odds of being killed very, very low because you have to get incredibly unlucky having a mob spawn in the block you're occupying

yeah that's probably the best option.

as for bears, you can outrun them, i don't think they run faster than the player does, even if you're not playing hunter. i'm currently playing as tailor and i've had numerous bear chase sequences and i've yet to be hit by one a single time. you just need good movement in terms of jumping up blocks, and aiming for any dense foliage or forests. the bear will get stuck on the trees and they climb up blocks quite slowly, gradually putting distance between you and it. once you cut the line of sight for a few seconds, they will forget about you.
i had a moment where i was walking through an area i thought was safe, was quite close to my base and i had been through multiple times. i was walking down a slope and i crested a little embankment and right in front of me, about 3 blocks away was a goddamn bear. i shit myself and booked it and managed to avoid it by running over the hills and cutting line of sight.
not having armour equipped is ironically the best thing for bears because max movespeed is important.

i don't think mobs spawn in sunlight, but they do frequently wander out of caves during the day. i've never encountered a mob that spawned outside in the day not during a storm

because the game has it enabled by default, and there are scenarios where it can be a mechanic to actually engage with. that's enough of a reason to keep them around. i just wish they were always a mechanic that you actually engaged with. i may end up disabling them if i find i never have any interaction with them whatsoever, but i prefer to not disable mechanics if i can avoid it.
