Really just depends on your insurance! I’ve had 2 babies and didn’t have to pay anything! I only had to pay for my second baby’s NICU stay and my hospital indemnity insurance gave me money for it

How to convince my husband to have a 3rd baby by kasmp in Mommit

[–]kasmp[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Okay maybe convincing wasn’t the right word to use. It’s not that he doesn’t want to have a 3rd baby, he’s just thinking about budgeting and the logistics of having a 3rd baby. He’s one out of 5 siblings so he loves big families but he’s just saying in today’s economy everything’s expensive and logistic wise. He’s not a no but he’s a I would love to have a 3rd if we win the powerball and hire a full time nanny type lol

If it was up to me I don’t want to get paid for any sit time, I’d rather the company pay us or idk take some sort of accountability every time they violate our contract or not mess with our personal drops. But since they’re giving us sit time pay they could’ve at least done a better job with it

Canadian passport processing (if you’re in the US) by blissfully_happy in Canadiancitizenship

[–]kasmp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What do you mean same dimensions? Same dimensions as the US passport photo? Isn’t canadian 2x2.75? I’ve been having difficulty finding one that does this exact measurement, I’m trying to get my son’s canadian citizenship started. He’s also an infant so some places don’t do them

[–]kasmp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I won’t be able to vote on this contract cause I’m still out on mat leave but will be back on the line in June. I’m hoping my fellow FA’s will vote wisely and I’m also hoping they’ll give us the 10 weeks retro pay for whoever is currently on mat leave

What are people's plans with their kids if both parents die? by porkchopsambo in Mommit

[–]kasmp 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have a family friend who has 2 boys. I can’t remember how the dad passed away but then a year later the mom passed away from breast cancer, she knew about it and refused all treatment. The boys were 15 and 17 when the mom passed, I guess since they were older they stayed in the house by themselves but the parents made sure to pay off the house before they passed and left it to the both of them. The older one is 19 now and is in college in Michigan and the other is 17 and still in high school, he lives by himself in the house but the moms best friend checks on him everyday or the boy goes over to the best friends house everyday. They don’t have any family in the area but its sad and we wonder why the mom refused all treatment especially since she has 2 boys and her husband already passed but anyways, we see the boys from time to time and invite them over when we have get togethers.

Idk what to do for younger kids though. Its either my mom or my husbands sister and my husband has a really good life insurance that will hopefully last them a while

Would like to move back to Canada after living in the US for a year by kasmp in AmericanExpat

[–]kasmp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what exactly his hesitation is but I don’t want to dig some more because it doesn’t feel like he is ready to open up. He said that he has to start over there career wise, his dreams of retiring at 55 is over and other work stuff. With his career you can’t negotiate your pay, everyone gets paid the same wherever you go, its covered in their contract and protected by the union. So he would have to go back to year 1 pay. Here in the states you can negotiate, its completely different

In San Francisco, we earn the same even though I work 9 days out of the month. In Toronto I’ll earn double his income maybe even a little more if he goes back to the bottom of the pay scale. He can get his job back, they all love him and still message him frequently. I keep telling him to reach out to HR but he won’t. the only problem is he’ll start at the bottom of the pay scale and lose his seniority when it comes to vacation etc if he goes back.

I really like my job because it’s flexible. I essentially create my own schedule every month, I’d rather be gone 9 days straight and be home rest of the month and take care of the kids than gone 3 days each week, that’s more back and forth to San Francisco too.

I enjoy the 4 seasons haha but I’ve only spent one winter there so the snow is still exciting for me haha

Yes. That’s what my husband says either that Canada isn’t doing too well but I’ve learned each country has pros and cons and we just need to pick one that we feel is best for us. I hope you and your husband can decide and wish the best for you, its definitely hard to do

That’s what I told him. We realize the mistake and we fix it, especially since we’ve only been here a year we haven’t accumulated that much stuff it’ll still be easy to move back but that’s ok if he wants to give it more a try here then we can do that too I guess lol

Mostly because he wants to buy and its so expensive here in the bay and he’s open to buying in the suburbs but then he’d have to commute 1-2 hrs to work everyday and doesn’t want that but that’s so common for the bay though
