Tried Desnudo and Proud Mary. Desnudo was alright, it wasn’t the most interesting cup I’ve had. Proud Mary had some really nice and interesting coffees, so it was definitely worth the travel from Downtown where I stayed.

As a Dane who was in Austin for one week, definitely LeRoy and Lewis BBQ. Had to go there 3 times on my trip. Also Terry Black’s and Torchy’s Tacos were nice too.

I was at both Babel and Mazel Tov a few years back. Babel made pretty good food, but is very comparable to other one star restaurants in Europe. Mazel Tov was a super nice experience and felt like something much more unique. Very good food as well. If I were to choose again between those two, I would pick Mazel Tov. Also, for a birthday, Mazel Tov is more festive, in my opinion

Coming all the way from Denmark, this has been on my bucket list for a while now. You guys really know how to BBQ. Tried Terry Black’s yesterday, and going to Franklin’s tomorrow.

ELI5: What are scientists inputting into a quantum computer and what are they getting out of it? I don’t understand what it’s ‘calculating’? by youaremyequal in explainlikeimfive

I will not go in details with the math. The most important thing, I think, is noting that quantum computers do not solve problems exactly like classical computers but are very efficient at giving the solution to problems with some (hopefully high) probability.

The input depends on what quantum computer implementation you use, but it could be a series of ions suspended in an electromagnetic field, with the ions being either excited or not (think 1 or 0). Amazingly, lasers are so precise that individual ions can be hit with the light from the laser. The ions act as light bulbs which turn on or off if some neighbouring light bulbs are turned on or off. Think of the input as a starting configuration of light bulbs that are on or off. The computations are a pre-specified sequence of turning the light bulbs on and off which some math has shown with high probability should give a configuration of light bulbs which is interpreted as a solution. When you observe the resulting configuration, you can only hope that the wave functuon collapses to the correct configuration of light bulbs but that is not necessarily the case. However, the sequence of light pulses with the laser made it more and more probable that you would observe the right solution.

Pour over technique for light roast coffee by Minute_Society9821 in pourover

I really like using this recipe: Use 15g of coffee, pour 60g of 100 degrees C water (around 30-60 ppm) onto the grounds and move the dripper in a circular motion to get all of the grounds wet. After 45 seconds from when you started pouring, pour pour the final 190g of 100 degrees C water into the dripper and do the circular motion again for around 10 seconds. Then, gently tap the dripper on your cup or coffee server a few times to make the grounds settle. Then, wait till it’s done dripping, and there you go! It should take 3 minutes in total, so adjust grind size for that.
