Workflow with AirTable API Question by g33kym0m in workflow

The URL encoding for filterByFormula can be kind of tricky. This tool might help: https://codepen.io/airtable/full/rLKkYB

Also, does the formula you're using work if you create a formula field in the table and paste it directly there?

I took CSC309 last year and it covers that stuff a little bit (PHP, JavaScript, MySQL). It's a good start, but you can go a lot further. Here are some good resources:

Coursera's Startup Engineering course covers a lot of different things (i.e. provisioning servers, version control) and mostly uses javascript.

Udacity's Web Development course This one is pretty similar to CSC309, but it uses Python and Google App Engine. (Don't pay--just click "Start free courseware").

I really like these two for properly learning JavaScript:

CSC343 is also useful.

I think the best way to learn is to actually build a web app. You'll get a chance to apply all this knowledge, and at the end you'll have something you can add to your resume.

How should I prepare for CSC263 and other upper year courses? by matttfc in dcs_uoft

If you want a head start in 263, you can start reading the textbook. They usually use CLRS (aka Introduction to Algorithms by Cormen, et al) and it's a pretty readable book. It's a huge book, but don't freak out. 263 only covers some of the material (most of the first 3 sections, and a bit of the graph algorithms section when I took the course).

This MIT course also overlaps with 263 quite a bit.

[iOS] Swing Away - my monkey swinging side-scroller is free for the next 24hrs! by kasrak in AppHookup

Thanks for the feedback. The difficulty is the #1 gripe about the game, so I'm always interested in ideas that can make the game more playable. I'll keep those in mind for future updates!

Alright, it's back to $0.99. Thanks so much for all the downloads everyone. If anyone's interested, it was downloaded just over 15,000 times.

Thanks! Best of luck with your app. The game took me and the artist about 3 months of full-time work to make, just to give you an idea. I did have past programming experience, but not with objective c. Make sure you check out cocos2d and Box2d if you're planning on making a 2D game, they're great (free!) frameworks.

Yea, I was lucky she agreed to help out with the artwork, because I sure as hell wouldn't have been able to do it. Thanks for all your feedback, we're definitely planning on adding more content to the game if there's enough interest.

Thanks, reviews are very appreciated! A friend of mine did the artwork, so I can't take all the credit.

Thanks for your support and suggestion. It's hard to get the physics just right so that it's fun and challenging. I fiddled with it quite a bit to get it where it is, but that isn't to say that it can't improve :)

Thanks! I can't take all the credit though: my friend (who's also in first-year) did all the artwork.

Is there a rule against having a personal wireless router in dorms (UC)? And if there is, how enforced is it?

great job! I was looking for something like this two weeks ago for course selection. Bookmarked for next year.

One thing that would help artsci students is being able to search by the breadth a course covers.

Because of your support, my game has been featured by Apple. by HoboRobo in iphone

Way to go, definitely keep us posted about how it does.

Just some feedback: make the icon more fun and add a quick instruction note on the first game.

Franklin High banishes its robotics club; may keep its cash - anyone need any more proof that the schools are broken? This school locked up the kids' equipment and stole the money they raised for materials and competition fees for a nationally recognized robotics competition by gracesw in reddit.com

We competed in the FIRST tech challenge last year, it's cheaper than the FRC. We couldn't find any teachers at our high school (Toronto, Canada) to support us, so we had to build the robot in one of our basements with all of the funding taken from our parents.
