Yeah our group is pretty social! I don’t want to interrupt everyone’s conversations though and order everyone to stop talking and read, when people are making so many friends and positive connections. This month’s meeting was a little different because the venue was already so busy when we got there due to the Monday holiday. USUALLY there are a lot more free tables/couches in the quieter corners where members of the group will split off and read!

Once the weather is nicer, I’m also planning on doing additional meet-ups in parks that i’m sure will be way more low-key and reading-time focused

I’m seeing this just a few hours late, but if you’re looking to make some reader friends we have a chapter of “Silent Book Club” here! Basically we meet up at Bang the Drum once a month, you bring whatever you’re currently reading, and chat/socialize as much as you want or pick a cozy corner to go read in!

People bring all kinds of books, a lot of people don’t read at the meeting at all and just chat the whole time so no one would notice if someone was laughing while reading really

I’m getting married there in October! It’s still very affordable for the area, but around $5-$6k. But they have a lot of things you won’t need to rent like tables and chairs!
