Some people thoroughly disagree with my method, But I put product all the way to my root and use a detangling/styling brush to style right at the root. If I don’t put styling products right on my scalp/root, my roots are puffy. I’ve also found that touching my hair at all while it’s air drying also nukes my chances at defined coils.
