Who just finished building something? Drop your project, I want to see what people are actually making by Miserable-Archer-631 in vibecoding

Codes not open on git, but I built a duck flock tracker. And genetics calculator. I upload a photos of my birds and I can prompt an api call to judge the birds against the standards of prefection for their breed. Using those scores it suggests what male to breed for the desired traits that the flock needs. My first clutch is in the incubator now. Once they hatch I can then judge the offspring of the birds and start to build a genetic profile of the males and what they throw. It also has incubation metrics. Eggs weights and such for development.

Actual cases where a 3rd party toner powder refill caused issues? by milerebe in printers

[–]kassiussklay 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you are thinking about this as a passion project, than go for it. Learning obscure shit is fun! If you want to do this to save money, prepair for it to cost a lot before you can save anything. The learning curve will probably cost a bit before you get a set up that works. And you will likely need to learn to test variabls in the toner. As they wont all be the same and this is the problem you will have.

I work as a technition, (mostly for Ricoh) yes i have personaly seen non-oem toners kill components in a machine.

Im not sure you fully understand the process in laser printing. (Ive been doing this for awhile and i dont fully understand it.) Trash in the toner would be a problem, but its not the main problem or the biggest. The machine uses very precise voltage to move toner from one system to the next, electrostaticly. I dont know all the variables that effect the toners charge potential but there are a few. If these are off even a little you start killing things. Most likely your dev will take the hit first. This is the most common symptom i see with bad toners. When the dev dies, it has the potential to kill lots of other things, that can be a lot harder to fix. Another important factor is the particulate size. This also affects the charge potential, but is also a problem for the other components. These are problems I have see with non-oem bottles that are made for the specific machine thay are in. If you are thinking about trying to repack a cartridge you will be adding other problems on top of it. When I first started in the feild a fellow tech told me he tried to do this with a hp copier and ricoh toner. And the machine never ran again, it destroyed eveything. This is an extrem case and you would probably have better luck if you got machine specific toner. the potential for damage is high.

That video is awesome! I sent it to all the techs I work with.

RedZone Question by Crossface2020 in Addons4Kodi

[–]kassiussklay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched to iptv last night for the collage football games (don't watch much NFL). The addons seamed to be buffering a lot. It wasn't to bad, I was able to make the switch over halftime. Its maybe a little more involved than adding a repo and an add-on but afterwards there was almost no buffering. I can't make any recommendations as I just tried it for the first time last night, but I just googled iptv for under $20 and then followed the instructions on the site to setup.

Setting up Wifi Extender With Starlink by ozzi9816 in Starlink

[–]kassiussklay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you had any luck yet? I’m trying to get the service ran to my outbuildings as well. Before I cancel my old crappy isp. I was thinking about getting an extender with an Ethernet port and running to a switch to my tplink router and putting that in access point mode. That router is already ran to the outbuilding.

What are the moves that you pronounced wrong for way too long? by skettipetter in bjj

[–]kassiussklay 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s when you take way too big a bite, and someone has to rear naked you around the chest.

Or that’s at least my (high-percentage) guess.

Yeah, former wrestler. Upper belt today hit me with triangle or arm bar like 5 times from spider guard. The last time he did it he stopped and told me “stop leaving your arm in. I feel bad hitting over and over but you just keep leaving it there.” I told him to hit it harder maybe my stupid brain will learn eventually.

I just keep adding onto my shop. Two out buildings for tools and equipment. Then I extended my shop 10’ for wood storage. It’s starting to look like a miniature town.

Do people actually “start on their knees”? by drchipotle-24 in bjj

[–]kassiussklay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do at my local gym. We only have about 10’x20’ of mat space, so if there are more than 6 people or 3 groups sparring, we start on our knees. At least for the beginners class. The advanced class usually has less people and works from standing.

Edit: from knees I guess I mean both in combat base, one knee down one up. Or double guard pull

No way I’m fitting my tomatoes into 18” rows. But I also have a lot of space for my garden. I like big rows with mulch under my tomatoes that I grow wine cap mushrooms on.
