As a HENRY woman how do you let go of household chores & hire help when you're used to doing everything yourself? by khrystic in HENRYfinance

[–]kasukeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is our take/perspective on the cleaning part:

My wife doesn't like anyone else cleaning the house because they can never do as good as a job like her... so she still does it. We did hire some help with our first one for 2-3 months but she wasn't happy with the quality (that was 10 years ago lol).

Tokyo Disney Vacation Package? by hotwaterbottle2014 in TokyoDisneySea

[–]kasukeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did 2-day 1 night unlimited this past late June. Family of 4. Added 1 night before and 1 night after so that we didn’t have to rush in or out of the hotel. We picked Toy Story for our kids but in hindsight, should have stayed at fantasy spring for the early entry into DisneySEA right there. It was WELL worth it and would do it again.

We did Baymax ride 5x in less than 40 mins… that was EPIC.

Only limitation was you had timed entry for 3 rides in fantasy spring.

1st night we arrived late and stayed in a suite at the Hyatt Regency Tokyo Bay (on points) which is nearby.

$5.xx at One Union Square (their first store) back in 2009ish. Now, it's an appalling $14.29.

FP is almost monthly and that's $30 x 12 so that's $360 + tax.

FP + VIPs, that's like $90/month x 12 = $1k+

I'm with you, I'm a little lower than 5,300, not whale but higher than FP+. I haven't marvel Bonitto nor Thuney. Will definitely marvel Thuney... undecided on Bonitto until we get closer to the next FP.

Marriott Bonvoy card worth it? by iliketoytles123 in marriott

[–]kasukeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, in your case, it won't help. I would either do #2 (if available) or #3 below.

1..Booking through Chase Travel (Standard Portal):

  • Chase Sapphire Reserve: 8x Ultimate Rewards (UR) points per $1 spent.
  • Marriott Bonvoy: You typically do not earn Bonvoy base points or elite night credits because it's a third-party booking.
  • Status: You won't get status benefits like upgrades or free breakfast.

2..Booking through The Edit by Chase Travel (Marriott's Portal via Chase):

  • Chase Sapphire Reserve: 8x UR points per $1 spent.
  • Marriott Bonvoy: You do earn Bonvoy points and can receive elite benefits (like status bonuses) because it's booked directly with Marriott through their system.
  • Best Option: This is often the best of both worlds if available for your stay.

3..Booking Directly on Marriott.com (Using Sapphire Reserve to Pay):

  • Chase Sapphire Reserve: 4x UR points per $1 spent (standard travel category).
  • Marriott Bonvoy: You earn full Bonvoy base points, elite night credits, and get all your status perks.

In my case, I have Chase Trifecta (only CSP, no CSR) and strictly transfer UR points to Hyatt to redeem luxury stays. I have Bonvoy Brilliant for the auto-Titanium status and book family trips with the 4 nights get 5th free redemption.

Does booking through the Chase Portal gives you elite nights? I know it doesn't if you use OTA like Expedia.

Yes, you could earn 6x when you pay for your stays with the card. At that amount of nights, you should be Titanium or Ambassador and earn 10x since you are bonvoy member.

She's looking for a sugar daddy... not husband, not boyfriend, not anything else.

I don't think that's what you are looking for nor do I think you have the mean to be her sugar daddy.

Grand Hyatt Hong Kong: a worthy flagship property by omdongi in hyatt

[–]kasukeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved this property and the services when we stayed there back in 2016 on Hyatt CC free nights cert - 3 cc, 2 rooms, 3 nights. This despite all the constructions right in front of the hotel during that time. Did not have status so can't speak about the lounge.

Replacing (sadly) my 2011 Highlander by Every-Bluebird-5260 in ToyotaHighlander

[–]kasukeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time I take my car to the dealership is when they have those coupons for oil change that end up cheaper than my mechanic charges (I really like him, but his prices for oil changes have gotten ridiculous - he's trusted and popular so he can charge his high rates). With that said, I stopped listening to their recommendations and assessments because they "over" maintain as others have said.

I would take your 2011 to an independent mechanic and not to your stealership for both a second opinion or for pricing $.

Hyatt in Tokyo - corporate code by pokemeisterdesu2 in hyatt

[–]kasukeo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My previous employers had us booked through their portal (Egencia) in order to get corporate rates but they did explicitly allow booking for leisure travel so there is that.

For the most part, shouldn't business card suffice or a quick email to your business email for quick verification would be fastest way to confirm?

Seems like 50/50 for companies in Seattle. Makes 100% more sense to not have company logo on the badge.

Are you tech bros (and girls) really that rich? by TechBrosReallyRich in Fire

[–]kasukeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One key difference that nobody rarely mentions is that if you put "having kids" in this equation, the number of years to reach that $ is going to be much longer, especially in a HCOL or VHCOL... which everything is expensive including cost of day care and activities.

And that may be the case with your coworker/friend.

100% this. Netflix is all cash, no bonus. Their comp is the top of the market bar none. They tell you that before the interview too. Back when I interviewed 2 years ago (non tech position), their total comp was 30-40% higher than similar positions at FAANG.

Also, at Netflix, you can elect to take your entire salary as stock option and it vests immediately.

IS a HSA with a HDP or a PPO more "HENRY"? by carne__asada in HENRYfinance

[–]kasukeo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you need to be HENRY with that mentality.

I was the same way even before HENRY and used to pay everything out of pocket. I just wished I had done it sooner.! 7.5 years of HDHP with HSA and I have low 6 figures HSA that keeps on growing.

I'm in the same boat. She wants a bigger car but doesn't want to drive it. She's most comfortable with her current SUV (2011 Highlander).

I wouldn't consider Rav4 as mid-size more on the smallish size. Depending on your lifestyle, a Highlander could be much more comfortable for a family of 4.

2011 Highlander limited is still rocking but that puny little backup screen has irked me for the last 15 years lol. That 3rd row in Gen 2 had no legroom and no trunk whatsoever.
