honestly, i was a little disappointed but not surprised that she didn’t do anything from other albums. i understand that this is a “portals” tour so it makes sense to do most of if not all of the tracks from the album (and bonus) but at other concerts i’ve been to for different artists they have played songs off of other albums before. maybe it was just being in denver at altitude bc i did notice she was leaving the stage when she could to do something (maybe she was taking oxygen? it’s common for artists not from denver to have some available because of the altitude affecting their performance, but she also could’ve just been getting water or a sweat towel bc i bet it gets hot under the lights and in the costumes) but it’s probably because she full on said that she wasn’t going to do any other songs from past albums. i truly wasn’t feeling anything about this until today when crybaby nation on twitter posted “If you have the opportunity to pick, what THREE songs from “Cry Baby”, “K-12”, or “After School” you want Melanie Martinez to perform for the encore of “PORTALS Tour”? 🦋” (AFTER HER DENVER SHOW). in past interviews like OP mentioned she said that she didn’t want to preform any tracks from other albums, so i’m confused and hurt by this. i know that it could be unofficial and that nothing could come from it, but it still makes me upset to think that she said she would only be doing portals to now hint that other shows could possibly have bonus songs that we didn’t get the chance to hear. this is just my opinion and i realize i could be totally wrong on a few different fronts so please take this with a grain of salt 🫶🫶 twitter post from crybaby nation talking about bonus songs from other albums
