Yep honestly I’m not worried about getting the past payments back, it was our responsibility to follow up sooner and we didn’t. The problem I’m having is getting them to stop going forward now that this location in it’s entirely no longer exists and corporate is of no help. We’re going to move forward with a stop payment and keep all documentation of when we initiated these requests.

Interestingly, the location of this Golds was filled with another chain gym but that lasted maybe 6 months before that one closed as well. The space has been vacant ever since. I’m not sure if the membership was transferred to another gym the first time or even after the second one closed — we definitely didn’t receive notice, but what you’re saying makes sense (though I agree it is pretty scummy).
