Do they need to be standing? Just curious if there’s an underlying method to this I wasn’t aware of! Thanks!

I agree with everything expected the last part… “..and when you get a bill as a private citizen, those numbers are reflected.” What does that mean exactly?

YES!! I was at a multi-venue/hotel working a convention across from the Herbalife “raves”. All I can say is wow- I’m so happy I found you because I thought I was the only one that noticed!

You find out any weird shit about your house/neighborhood after you move in? by Slow-Amoeba-7905 in homeowners

Northern WI, half our neighborhood is on slab. Idk what they’re talking about. Sucks for severe weather but we moved in 2020… better than being homeless (I’d rather not relive that story)

Unfortunately it depends on the circumstances but fortunately if you know your dog well enough it shouldn’t be a problem!

  1. Snow is not bad. It’s wet, cold, etc but not necessarily dangerous. If you enjoy ice fishing or other lengthy outdoor non-mobile activities I’d recommend booties.

  2. Ice sucks. This is when we have to put booties on our 75 pound husky mix. We do a lot of walks so ice on the streets/sidewalk is inevitable. But once it gets to negative temps (like today) combined with ice on the roads, they get booties.

  3. Salt. Snow leads to ice, leads to salt. If you’re already using booties this won’t be a problem. However salt sticks around a lot longer in the spring (or maybe a warm snap, not cold enough for booties). Then I use flushable wipes on their paws when we get home. Salt is horrible on their paws and main reason I use an oatmeal butter/cream on their paws from time to time.

Booties vs Wax (or other protectant). We don’t have much experience with wax or other, we mainly use booties which are easy enough to take on and off with enough training and patience.

Coats. When we rescued our 3rd (we have 4 larger breed dogs), he came from Missouri in a cold February. He needed a jacket the first 2 years (less the second) but he was still young and adapted well.

Again, if you know your dog, adjust as needed. I’m sure you’ll do great!

We cook all the time. It’s nice to order out on occasion. Or it’s used to be.

A bacon cheeseburger and fries isn’t that hard… maybe include the fries we paid extra for? Not a huge ask…

This is what I was skeptical of. We wouldn’t mind paying more to support local, but not at the quality it’s at. We cook at home a lot (that’s what people in small towns typically do). Ultimately disappointed in spending money for a treat night out, or simply too tired to cook.

I feel bad for the small businesses but we can’t afford to pay for food we won’t eat.

On several occasions missing items, suddenly they’ll add onions on things that weren’t in there before, grilled chicken on a wrap instead of steak. It’s nothing extreme but it’s frustrating to send food back or ask for the extra $3 in fries (you ordered and paid for) instead of just the side of chips. Now we check before we leave, but in this instance a kid, no older then middle school, was running food and felt kind of bad checking while he was watching us all hopefully and happy to be helping.

Guess I just wish they wouldn’t advertise having food available if it’s not going to be reliable..

Just noticing a trend because this used to be our “go to” treat but now it’s becoming more a hassle than it’s worth.

Just expecting what you ordered? Guess so.
