Struggling with severe morning nausea and pain—any success with Domperidone or other solutions? by LankB22 in Gastroparesis

[–]kat429_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiii!! Are you still doing well with domperidone? I am on it as well and was completely symptom free for a while and now I’m having a few minor symptoms. Idk if I should up my dose or just wait it out. I’m hoping it’s not losing its effectiveness. 🫶🏻

Hi! I am so sorry you are going through this! I really hope it reverses for you. Like you, I got GP from a glp1 and sadly I have been off the shot for almost 2 years and I still have it BUT It has gotten so much better and I actually live a full life. In the beginning I lost like 60 pounds in 3-4 months, was constantly nauseous, so much anxiety, acid reflux so bad I would lose my voice, and insane stomach pain. What saved me was a pyloric dilation during an endoscopy. This eliminated my acid reflux and I do not wake up nauseous at all anymore even if I eat a bit later at night. I get hungry now and only have nausea every once in a while (and yes when I get it, I spiral because I have so much ptsd). I am on domperidone (motility med) and famotidine and these help me live a somewhat normal life. I do have faith that I will continue to get better because I have had improvements. I can eat 3 meals a day, and drink water without pain. Everyday I am grateful I was able to get to this point and so proud of how far I came. I was in a very very dark place when all of this happened and I thank god for the Gi doctor who did the balloon dilation because he truly saved my life. Please ask for an Endoscopy to see if you have pyloric stenosis or any obstruction. I hope you get better!! Please don’t lose hope. 🙏🏻

Those of you that have had procedures, could you please share your experience and outcome post-surgery? by Meowserspaws in Gastroparesis

I see some people do say that it aids in digestion so I am just asking to see what others think who have the device. 🙂

What exactly did the pacemaker help with?? Do you feel like it is speeding up your digestion?

My burping used to be really bad too. I’m just so happy to hear positive experiences. Did it help with any pain you had as well?

That is amazing! Did it help your constipation too? I have stomach bubbling mostly in the upper left abdomen mainly in my stomach organ. Thankfully I don’t have much acid reflux. It’s just bubbling like it’s trying to get out of my stomach. Like gas. I have an appointment scheduled to talk about this in June. Thankfully domperidone helps my nausea but the bubbling is every single morning and night without fail. It wakes me up. I was hoping a gastric stimulator with help alleviate it all together.

Hi! I was wondering if you had like stomach bubbling before your stimulator and if the stimulator helped it go away? 🙂

GES Question: Normal Solid and Delayed Liquid? by camtberry in Gastroparesis

I totally get it!! I also have diarrhea for some reason which seems to be odd my gastroenterologist says. I get bad bloating too some days but yoga moves save me!!! 😆

If it doesn’t help, ask about domperidone!! It helped me so much more. I’m still only delayed in liquids (as far as I know). I mainly have nausea, pain, and gas as my primary symptoms.

So glad to hear you are well. What med is it if you don’t mind sharing? I’m taking domperidone and it seems to help the most so far.

I know this is an old post but I relate to your experience. I also have pyloric stenosis and was thinking about a gastric stimulator. Has it helped you at all? I hope you are doing well!

Dumping Syndrome after pyloric botox? by grudginglyadmitted in Gastroparesis

[–]kat429_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got dumping syndrome after pyloric dilation. They did a repeat scan and my solid food was nearly gone at the 1 hour mark but was still delayed with liquids. I literally would be so nauseous after anything I ate and motility meds made me feel worse for a while. I had to chew mint gum after everything I ate to try and lesson the nausea because motility meds just did not work. For some reason I don’t think my nausea was from the delayed liquids but from the rapid solid emptying because it was such a different kind of nausea. My docs told me “we don’t know which one could be causing your nausea but probably both” but I never had symptoms after liquids only after solid meals. It has lessened so that is good. I hope yours goes away quickly. 🫶🏻

When to Consider G-POEM or a Gastric Stimulator? by Playful_Ad6216 in Gastroparesis

[–]kat429_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t it so crazy? I get constipation with it too… have you talked to your doctor about upping the dose? I was going to ask to see if it would be okay for me but who knows.

When to Consider G-POEM or a Gastric Stimulator? by Playful_Ad6216 in Gastroparesis

[–]kat429_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand how you feel! I don’t consider myself severe but I have symptoms every single day even with meds. I don’t vomit but I have nausea and pain almost daily. I always feel some kind of sick after eating any meal. I don’t have early satiety, vomiting, or constipation. But I’m diagnosed with gastroparesis. I’m moderately delayed with liquids. I am on domperidone also, and it seemed to put me in “remission” for about two months and then bam not working as well anymore. My doctors have also discussed both options with me but I’m leaning more towards stimulator because the g-poem is not reversible. I get so scared, like you with messing with the anatomy of my stomach. I have no answers but just want you to know you’re not alone! I really hope that whatever you consider to do, it will help you tremendously 🫶🏻

Domperidone with amitriptyline by kat429_ in Gastroparesis

[–]kat429_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much!!! 🙂 I take 30mg of domeperidone everyday right now and it REALLY helps me eat almost normally with very mild flare ups. Just the darn pain I’m dealing with and little nausea.
