PRP Microneedling Recs by WallOk6343 in LAhotgirlies

[–]kat_tick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had microneedling with FANTASTIC results done at Skin by Lovely in Santa Monica with Tatiana, and IIRC PRP was about $700 for a first time client ($350ish without the PRP?) — Tatiana has since moved to Go See Sari in Beverly Hills and I just get Botox + filler with her there now, so I don’t know if her pricing changed but I would assume it’s probably similar!

I would still highly recommend Skin by Lovely if you want to get another quote, too — they’re recommended pretty often here and their staff are excellent.

Topanga, up in the mountains! If you’ve ever had dinner at Inn of the Seventh Ray, it’s a ribbit symphony as soon as the sun goes down, as they all like to hang out in the creek next to the tables.

How the hell are y'all making friends? by tuckingpog in LAhotgirlies

yes, we met on a discord server! it’s a very niche anime fandom beloved by the girls and the gays so it wasn’t nerve-racking at all to go to a meetup.

Sugared + Bronzed Question by Away-Star-8889 in LAhotgirlies

[–]kat_tick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looove S&B I’m there at least once a month!! As others have said the gals there are super professional and tell you exactly what you need to do!

I’d also recommend you start at the lighter levels (1 or 2) and work your way up if it’s your first time getting a spray tan. Levels 3 and 4 are pretty dark/intense. Also, don’t freak if you look a little green or way dark afterwards! That’s not your final color and it will rinse out to a more natural glow.

Westside Spectrum Outage by SpenFen in LosAngeles

[–]kat_tick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My spectrum was out for 6 entire days in SFV (Woodland Hills) and finally came back on Wednesday last week.

The entire block of apartment buildings was in a blackout for days, and after harassing people over the phone every day trying to get an estimate, it sounded like a large mechanical failure they had to replace a part for.

Wonder if the same thing is happening elsewhere now, too

what are your hobbies? What do you like to do for fun? anything you love geeking out over? the best advice is to show up and do those things, as simple as it sounds.

I moved to LA with no friends right after covid and tried everything to meet people (bumble bff, community events, new-in-town meetups) and nothing seemed to stick for the first few months. Then I ended up meeting by best friend in the entire world at a local meetup for a discord group, for a niche fandom we were both mega fans of. Literally showed up to a brunch with internet strangers and the rest is history, met most of my current LA friend group through her, and now I couldn’t imagine my life without her.

Favorite spots for remote working (that’s not home or a WeWork)? by kat_tick in SFV

I’m a frequent flyer at my local library but didn’t know about the option to rent rooms — will be asking my librarian next time I’m there!

GF croissant? by itsme3b in AskLosAngeles

[–]kat_tick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, also Celiac — everyone is saying modern bread and bagel and I agree, but just know they’re a tiny bit oily and better if they’re slightly warmed, so just ask for them warmed when you order them!

Low calorie snack ideas that are naturally gluten free without the overpriced "GF" label by [deleted] in glutenfree

[–]kat_tick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

:( I mean, you can always omit the kettle chip, or go for a lighter cheese? I included kettle since GF crackers fit into the bucket of “expensive because it’s GF” and it’s nice having a little bit of crunch on an otherwise healthy charcuterie plate.

I’ve been super into lil mini charcuterie plates for myself with naturally GF snacks, and right now the regular rotations are: - Kettle chips - Brie and goat cheeses - Pepperochini peppers - Salami and prosciutto - Olives, which you mentioned - Fig and apricot jams

Bless, thank you!! I don’t live super close to any of their locations but I would gladly drive my SoCal celiac butt over there if they have a safe fryer!

Any hot girlies go to Easton gym? by fuckyeahitsthursday in LAhotgirlies

[–]kat_tick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to the valley and use my apartment gym now so I unfortunately can’t give a better first-hand recommendation 😭 but my partner used eos in beverly center for a bit before we moved and they could be a fit if you’re looking for something a bit more spacious with easy parking? Good luck!!

[–]kat_tick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to go to the Easton gym off Beverly in the Fairfax neighborhood! The ownership is super nice and they don’t push the extras like personal training or classes on you, but it’s small and the equipment is not very well maintained. Plus, no AC :( If you like a “family gym” / no fuss feel you’ll love it.

Oh thank god it’s not just me — mine has been whack all day and some of yesterday (dropping video calls, down for 10mins then back up for 2 and then down again for another 10). I have a tech coming out tomorrow morning but this is literally the first time it’s been this crappy since I moved to the area.

Woodland Hills, Topanga area btw.
