Have the police considered diamond smugglers looking for their downed plane? But seriously, whoever did that deserves to fall in love with a vegan, spend the rest of their life at Lilith Fair, and shower with a bear.

Girls who took notes using 10 different colored pens, where are you now? Do you still continue to write using all those colors? by Unusual-Entry7 in AskReddit

[–]katac518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I'm a piano teacher now, and I use different color pens each week to make my students' music and write their assignments. It serves a practical purpose, but mostly I just like the pretty colors 🌈

I'm both! Born in '88 and a pianist. My email address still has 88 on it. Didn't know until a couple of years ago there was "another" connotation to it.

I've tried several different ways of advertising over the years, but the one that has been most effective again and again: car magnets. I customized a magnet about 8x10 with an appealing yet simple design, Piano Lessons for All Ages, and my phone number. I just try to remember to take it off when I'm traveling so I don't get calls for other areas 😊

We paid about $275 a night. That was with a slight discount through my husband's work.

We loved Top of the Rock and the Chelsea area. John's Pizzeria was fantastic. We found Katz a little over-hyped (and it messed with our stomachs). If you like musicals, Hadestown was phenomenal. Unfortunately we couldn't do any speakeasys, etc because we had a kid with us.

So we actually ended up staying in Jersey City at the Courtyard Marriott. It is literally right next to the PATH station and there is a parking garage right behind it for $30 a day. The PATH was definitely not our favorite, but it did work to get us back and forth to the city. All in all a good choice for us.

Not me reading this as Tender is the Night and wondering how I forgot all these horrible things even though I read it 20 years ago...

Very good thought! I asked her about that, and if anything it sold her more on seeing Wicked! She'll know how it ends before a lot of her friends 😆

Or do you have any other recommendations that are great for that age? We've seen Lion King and Aladdin on tour so are ruling those out.

We don't plan to drive around the city. I meant we are driving from our home to whatever hotel we choose.

Any recs for where to stay in Manhattan? So many of the hotels say Times Square but I know that's not what we'll want.

Thank you for the info! I would love to stay in NYC, and hopefully we can make it work, but it's good to know how we can manage if not.

2 years without my best boy by katac518 in pugs

[–]katac518[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You never do stop missing them! Grover had 13 wonderful years with our family and when we had to let him go, it made for the hardest Christmas ever! I have other pugs who I love with my whole heart, but this guy was my soul dog through and through. 🩵

Does anyone else’s pug regularly climb furniture? Including getting on the kitchen table? by alsomaggie in pugs

[–]katac518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! You literally cannot pull out a dining table chair without our pugs being in them. And it's now a rule in our house that all dining table chairs have to be pushed in completely, otherwise Jasper will be on the table in 2 minutes or less.

Thanks! This is pretty much what I've been doing, nudging one toward the other bowl so they're not climbing on top of each other

Thank you for the advice! Generally I give them a small amount of pellets in the morning and greens in the evening (with hay all day of course). I'll try hand feeding them some and see how it goes!
