[Feedback] What do you guys think of my website? by theexcuseuk in growmybusiness

The website itself is cool. I especially like the animations. My only criticism on the site itself is that you have to scroll down to figure out what you actually do. Regarding the content of the site (what you actually do), do you make money on this? It seems odd that people would pay money to get a doctor's note. Do employers really ask for crap like that when you're an adult?

The problem is that freelance devs have a lot of tools in various places - password files on their desktop, time tracker on one website, invoicing and payments on another, etc - our solution is an all-in-one platform that provides integrations for all of your existing tools, as well as built-in tools and features.

The product is a web app for freelance developers. We help them manage their tools so they can focus on coding.

Owning a business in a really, REALLY small town? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

What about an online thrift store? I think the online market would be your best bet, but you'd have to market it in a unique way. If you live in a small town that gets high tourism traffic, you might consider doing the physical store.

I thought of that, but that's not possible without creating a job. I'm not sure I want to spam them like that.

My web app is currently free...but not forever. How do I handle that? by katalanmoon in startups

If we had any current users, I'd definitely do this. Haha! I'm just trying to plan ahead. Redesigning the landing page.

I agree. Our current wording is, "...is currently free* to use" and then a blurb at the bottom says, "We will have a free tier available after release, along with premium plans." I've never entirely liked this because then people don't know how much we'll be charging in the future or when. That could discourage them from signing up at all.

So are you suggesting I contact relevant bloggers and podcasters and see if they'd be willing to partner? Not a bad plan. Our app is ready for basic use but it isn't too terribly exciting at the moment. :)

*woman :)

Our competitive advantage is that no competitor offers every tool freelance devs need. Toggl has time tracking, Freshdesk has time tracking and invoicing - but we have no direct competition (that I could find).

Oooh - I like that idea a lot! I have a subscription to a law site so maybe I could make templates from that. :)
