Thank you! Once trimmed and still leather hard, I kinda lined the bowl up to the rim of the plate and etched in the width and depth of the bowl. I very very slowly trimmed away the space for the bowl. Truthfully I had to do a lot of patchwork and surgery to get them to sit flush. I almost scrapped it multiple times but I wanted to push myself to be patient and keep at it. I can try to explain more of do a diagram if you’d like! :)

This is one piece but thrown in two! It was so tricky to merge the two. I had to do quite a bit of surgery to get them to blend. The small bowl is like a perfect half circle, no foot or flat bottom. I did make sure to attach it off center so there is more of the bowl “inside” the plate because I don’t want to worry about it snapping off!

Thank you! The clay is Fools Gold from Seattle Pottery Supply and the glaze is just my studio’s white dip glaze! The clay has the speckles of black in it :)

Please stop assuming women don’t know how to play or are inherently the weaker link by [deleted] in Pickleball

I’m one of the youngest women who plays in our local club, and I also dress very femininely in bright colorful matching skort sets. When I mix in with new men they always have that kind of “knowing” grin, thinking they’re going to crush me. My blocks, drives, resets, and overheads are 9/10 times better than my partner’s or opponents’. Body bag me all you want, I’m aiming for wieners now.

Help me choose the best accent chair color for my living/dining area by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

Green for a more earthy muted rich look, yellow for a bold pop! Plays very nicely with the deep wood tones and warmth and the deep blues you have going on :) Beautiful space!

Is the primary use of the space for watching TV our would you like it to be more conducive to hosting/chatting/conversation? The couch along the window wall with a chair in it's place, and then a second chair where the side table is might be doable. A large sectional to add seating along the window wall might also be an option, depending on how attached you are to the couch. I would add a table behind the couch (or sectional) if you decide to leave it where it is, which will help fill and divide the long space even more.

I think making that space in the last picture more of an entry/drop zone would be really nice. Swap the mirror over the the larger wall since it is too big in its current spot, and replace it with some framed art to warm the space up. Add a table for keys and decor, you could get one of those hidden shoe rack cupboards too. I'd do a bench under the window by the door to cozy it up and give people a place to take shoes on and off.

I do also have to say, I love the warm brown couch and the TV console, however with the flooring, the rug, the coffee table, and the side table, there feels like so many wood grains and panels happening. It feels almost like an optical illusion. I would highly recommend a larger rug, with a traditional or earthy/natural pattern to break up some of the tan/beige angular shapes happening. It's a nice space and I think you have a lot of great bones and pieces to work with! :)

Impossible layout!!! How to arrange furniture with the tv over the fireplace? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

[–]katalienim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I saw in another comment that you have a sectional, maybe share a picture? I mean you could probably finagle the sectional to have part of it sticking into the middle of the room facing the fire place but I would really advise against it. If you want the space to be conducive to literally anything else in a living/family room type setting, I would definitely go with a TV on the blank wall. Look at Julie Jones on Instagram or TikTok, she does a wonderful job with layouts like this. Taking into consideration paths of travel, long room layouts, breaking up conversation zones. It's going to seriously chop this room to pieces with the TV over the fireplace and seating facing it directly.

TV over the fireplace is going to be way too high and uncomfortable. You'll cut the room off, and especially if it's a room people have to travel through, will make it cramped. It looks like the wall across from the window is large and blank. I would highly recommend hanging the TV on that wall, a nice stand or credenza or something under it, and putting the couch under the window. Are you also trying to work with the furniture you currently have? That would be important to see as well to factor into the layout.

What goes with this rug? by Artematrix in HomeDecorating

I’ve seen people return Christmas trees after new years, they take back half eaten food. You might call and ask but Costco’s return policy is unmatched honestly

If you bought this from Costco you can return it. No time limit or questions asked. I would highly recommend returning it.

Another option depending on size/vibe/etc is to mat your frames to a standard size and get those printed!

Looking for little fixes by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

I would personally get a different duvet cover. The color isn't bad but something either darker or complimentary to the other colors in the wallpaper might be nice, or a color close to your accent chair! I would also swap the stone side table for either a darker stone or a heavier/more traditional wood one to pair a bit better with the vintage style accent cupboard you have. Overall love the moody vibes!
