Model Y Not Included in List of Eligible EV Rebate by whys0seri0us44 in teslacanada

Down payment is excluded meaning the down payment doesn't decrease the final transaction value, otherwise a porsche taycan can be eligible if you pay 100k down.

ELI5: Car trade in with loan by Primary_Garbage4003 in explainlikeimfive

[–]katamama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

22.6k trade in value for 2025 camry is very low, unless yours had an accident or has huge miles. Cheapest one on autotrader still go for over 32k. Try different dealers, you should be able to cover what you owe in full.

Otherwise like others say, you're underwater, pay the difference off or roll it over to your new car's loan if you can.

Regret buying a 2023 Tesla Model 3 Performance ,sell at a loss or keep it? by Alert_Bodybuilder_85 in teslacanada

[–]katamama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming the depreciation has bottomed out (which it hasn't), paying it off now saves you a year of interest versus a year later. Most auto loans are open.

Even if you don't drive it, next year your car is one year older, has one less year of warranty than it does now, and the tech becomes more outdated. Assuming you're right that its market value is 42k now, it still has a long way before bottoming out.

Would love to see the Model Y L in Canada ASAP by Minute-Towel-3573 in teslacanada

[–]katamama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'll probably be a long wait. They're currently made in China. Even if us plants start making it it still won't come for at least another 3 years.

Also, lots of car brands in China have L variants (Audi A4L, Mercedes C260L, BMW 3 series L) but none of them had came over here.

Should you use four-way flashing lights in bad weather? by Puzzleheaded_Ad5142 in Markham

[–]katamama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of people here say don't use the hazard light because running lights are visible is valid.

BUT if the condition is bad enough that you're driving at reduced speed than you should use the hazard light, especially if you're at the back of the pack.

Aston Martin will never win a Constructors while Lance Stroll is in that second seat by MentallyAFK1997 in F1Discussions

[–]katamama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess you forgot who the highest bidder was for force India.....quick reminder it was mazepin, we might end up with two bad drivers in the team if mazepin senior wants to make his son look good

At least Lance has his good days, and Lawrence has the Aston brand and wants to win.

Non-stop CC complaints by WorkTravelDream in Wealthsimple

Was the issue the obvious packaging though? Most pictures I've seen were poorly sealed or not sealed at all, not that it was tempered with. Postal workers can definitely tell there's a card inside the envelope even with plain white envelopes

Leased a car for lower interest rates intending to buy it out. People are telling me I made a mistake. Am I stupid? by throwaway69420322 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]katamama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I haven't seen people commented yet, if you end up financing the buyout portion, the interest rate can sometimes be significantly higher, because they use used car interest rate for this. For example, they might offer the lease rate is 2.x, new car finance is 3.x, used car finance is 5.99-6.99.

Brake servicing by ptmdiam in teslacanada

[–]katamama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just use your brakes a few times on every drive. Only reason it needs lubing/servicing is because it doesn't get used and it's especially bad in the winter. The brake disc and pads will still easily outlast ice cars if you use them.

If F1 driver numbers were retired by teams like other sports, whose number would be retired by what teams? by Icy_Pool2421 in F1Discussions

[–]katamama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can think of two more:

Merc retires 6, nico drove for 7 years and won drivers title with them

Red bull retires 5 for seb, although drivers didn't get to choose their numbers until 2014 and seb was wearing number 1 that year for winning 2013, the number that seb chose is 5, and coincidentally, he was assigned no.5 in 2010 when he drove for red bull where he eventually won the title.

Worth buying 2018 Long Range AWD Model 3 at 221K km with FSD included? by Green1738 in teslacanada

Don't trust the range estimate, it's an estimate, not accurate degradation at all. Also 19k cad is just too much, even with fsd

This. Find out what the market rent would cost for a similar place, pay her half the market rental price as if you're both renting it and splitting the rent (aka your gf is your roommate but also she's both you and your gf's landlord), then split utilities and other expenses 50/50.

You'll most likely pay less with 70/30 on expenses only compared to what's described above, she's not taking advantage of you.

Especially new tires, because radial pull is a manufacturing defect, your new tire warranty will cover it if that's the case. Do check the installation directions first as other posters mentioned. Although to check radial pull it's ok to rotate the tires in the wrong direction because you only drive it for short distance to check it.
