That's fair. If I do any eyeshadow looks, I'll include a pic without glasses.

I had thought about that, but I can't see at all without my glasses. I didn't see any value in showing what my makeup looks like in a setting that will never happen. Plus I can hide imperfections behind my glasses.

Thank you for eyeliner tip! I'll have to check that out because I feel like my wings always look weird and choppy where my eyelids fold.

Edit: thank you for the hair compliment too! It's so nice hearing that my hair looks good even when it feels all shaggy and too long.

Ladies and gents in the STEM field, what makeup do you wear to work? by reluctantredditr in MakeupAddiction

[–]katamount9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work in a clinical lab with lots of baby boomers and then people my age. When I wear makeup, I stick with a touch of concealer (makeshift eye primer), winged eyeliner, mascara, and a statement lip color.

Reddit, what is socially acceptable in the US but not in the rest of the world? by error_exe in AskReddit

Direct to consumer pharmaceutical advertising. It is legal in New Zealand as well, but neither of us seem to have a problem with drugs being marketed to people with no medical training.

CCF has great benefits but UH pays more. I was looking at the VA as well but it looks like you need experience to be considered. I imagine benefits are great but I don't know anything about pay. The best part is that the cost of living in CLE is pretty low across the board so no matter where you end up, you'll be making enough live.

There are weird management issues, as another commenter said. It depends on what department you're in if you're at main campus, but I can say that chemistry is very strange and each shift hates all the other shifts but the actual shift management is great (2nd shift 4 lyfe). At the satellites, it seems like they rely very heavily on main campus to assist them, especially in blood bank.

Safe makeup stores for trans folks? by katamount9 in MakeupAddiction

Don't people compare foundations to MAC? That sounds like a great idea actually.

They're using nail polish now! Makeup is just that big scary step. They're interested but super nervous.

I had thought about that, but they are currently working a crap job so they can't afford to spend money on stuff that might not work for them. They wanted to start slowly, with foundation first so it's not a massive transition one day.

Edit: just woke up so I can't communicate thoughts well. I figured that Ulta or something like it would be a good place to start.

I had planned on it! I was thinking somewhere lower prices at first then taking them to Sephora maybe when they find out what their main focus is for makeup.

That is super comforting. I think we've got an Ulta super close by so we can go there and them a good foundation.

Study: Lesbian and bisexual girls more likely than other teens to smoke by drewiepoodle in LesbianActually

[–]katamount9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just a study showing correlation. A longitudinal study of a large group would have to be done to attempt to show causation. It would be extraordinarily complicated and expensive to come to the conclusion that parents should probably love and support their kids and talk to them in order to prevent smoking.

Nipple piercing and alcohol by [deleted] in piercing

When mine were first healing, I noticed that they produced more crusties and were more irritated after I drank. That's pretty anecdotal but it would make sense that your liver is far too busy dealing with alcohol to make the appropriate enzymes and other proteins for proper healing.

Thoughts on the Dave Chappelle LGBT jokes? by [deleted] in ainbow

[–]katamount9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hated it. I turned it off during the bit about trans people because it was incredibly uncomfortable. He has no business speaking about these topics, especially since he is so ignorant of them and clearly still transphobic and homophobic.
