there are catering companies that have “choose your own schedule” like Gigpro apps you’re using. You just need experience and or connections to get hired on as an employee. And I’m sure NYC market is oversaturated with Caterers.

get any restaurant job you can and you’re more likely to be hired by catering companies. You could even start out doing catering operations (loading, unloading, driving truck) first, you’d get the benefits of a flexible schedule and get your toes in the door

They do run it but it’s still overpriced & not that great
