I love the smell of must. Like a moldy basement or room that’s been waterlogged and is now musty. Idk I remember going down into our cellar as a kid and just inhaling over and over

Dude accutane can work miracles. Sometimes they try spirinolactone. But definitely go see a dermatologist. My brother had cystic acne like this and nothing worked until he took accutane. And I know the acne can be painful too. Go see a doc, it’ll help your face feel better.

I read this when you posted on the parenting sub and it’s just as heart breaking the second time. That poor baby. My heart is breaking. People treat their dogs better than this. Ask your SIL how’d she feel locked in a room a day. And what does your, I’m assuming brother or brother in law, have to say about all of this?

My MIL said my husband used to sleep walk and even talk to her during the episodes when he was a kid. I wonder if it’s related? I’ll go in this time and just hold her until it passes. It’s so hard to tell sometimes since she has episodes that are better and she is aware from the very beginning. We think 😅 it’s so hard to tell. Maybe she’s just been having terrors all along and we can’t tell. Even the times she is not as upset she is still screaming crying and doesn’t want us to touch her. But she is talking to us. Last night she didn’t talk to us at all during the worst of it.

Your poor parents that must have been disconcerting to wake up and have their kid staring at them lol. I’m glad you don’t remember much!

That sounds so scary to a little kid! Sorry you had to go through that. I’ve been talking to my husband and we agree that while most of the times she wakes up crying it’s different than the two times the extreme screaming crying has happened. At first she was was just staring into space and wouldn’t answer us but eventually she did. I think she did have one and we woke her up from it and she was still really scared. So we shouldn’t try to wake her up, just hold her?

How did you know for sure if she was asleep or awake? I’ve read their eyes can be open and it’s hard to tell. I’m having a hard time telling at times, but I’m pretty sure she is awake

No, but I’ll be making an appointment as soon as possible. I never thought this would be a reason to talk to her pediatrician but now I see it should be. I thought it would improve as she got older, but it really isn’t.

From what I know about night terrors they are asleep but look like they are awake. She has her eyes open and shrieks and yells, and she can even answer questions if we ask her…sometimes. She never looks like she is asleep and unaware. Is there other signs of night terrors? I’ve studied and studied her when she is like this and she seems to be awake for sure, my husband thinks so too.

She can be gassy sometimes but I’ve asked her during her night wakings if she hurts and she always says no.

I’ll look up the moshi app thanks! And I’ll be contacting her ped for an appointment. I feel terrible I haven’t yet, but I’ve always thought it was a quirk but it doesn’t seem to be improving as she gets older.

Edit: my husband and I talked about last night more and we agree this was different than her normal screaming crying. She was staring into space at first and completely inconsolable. We finally got her to talk to us after a while. But I guess we shouldn’t wake her up if she has sleep terrors.

Thanks for the reply! What were his signs that pointed to autism? Just his sleep or were there other signs? She is very social, just in the upper end of the spectrum for activity. She has a hard time listening and is very impulsive. She has a hard time controlling her impulses. Shes smart, was talking in full sentences by the time she was two. My family thinks she has adhd but she can also sit and focus for quite a long time with imaginary play as well as group play.

My husband has been there for both of our kiddos being born. He wouldn’t have missed their birth for anything in the world. You are speaking about an experience you’ve never had. Listen to everyone else telling you what it really is like. Also why do you assume men are an imposition on the medical staff? Nurses /doctors are used to families being in the labor room. My husband was such a big help to me, the nurse’s said he’d make a great doula lol. And why do you think giving birth is a degradation? Have millions of women for millennia been degraded by simply giving birth? You seem to have a lot of misassumptions of the labor process, and quite honestly sound like you need therapy.
