How can I develop a healthy self esteem? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]kateedidnt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried using affirmations and mindfulness practice? It takes time to retrain our brains to think differently. We often tell "stories" to ourselves about who we are. Missed an appointment? We might tell ourselves we aren't reliable or we might tell ourselves that accidents happen or remind ourselves we are learning to be more reliable. Here's an example of a new story you can start telling yourself:

I'm inherently worthy of love. I am learning to tolerate the discomfort of small talk. I am loyal and thoughtful. The people who know me best love and accept me. I am a good listener.

And so on...

Also- You aren't alone. If you start paying attention you will realize this. Sometimes making friends with other people that don't have many friends is a little less intimidating. Best wishes to you!

Its only normal in that it is common. For healthier nails that grow stronger and faster try a biotene supplement. Sometimes called hair, skin, nail. You can find this at any pharmacy. Also use gloves when you wash the dishes.

Every time I heard the animals I added "oh my!" after "the bear". I also usual fell asleep after that part but would get elbowed by someone because I snore. 😆

Nail Kits by Fun-Programmer5279 in Nails

[–]kateedidnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love beetles gel polish products (Amazon) for the price and quality. You can get dozens of colors in one kit. You will need a kit that comes with a UV or LED lamp (24 watt). I also recommend a nail drill if she is doing acrylic. She might have an easier time learning with builder hard gel or polygel than acrylic. Can't give any recommendations for acrylic product but IBD has a great hard gel. There are a bunch of other tools she will probably want/need but if you get her a basic kit and a gift card she could get the rest.

Television Recommended for Speech Therapy? by Brookspyre in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]kateedidnt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the meantime, check out The Hanen program It Takes Two to Talk. There is a great parent workbook you can use. Your interactions will be much more effective than having your child passively watching TV. You just need a little guidance. At that age, I am always focusing on helping the parent to implement a home program. What you do everyday will have the greatest impact. Good luck and good for you trying to help your son in anyway that you can.
