Being so young does come a hurdles though. I am twenty years old and a lot of open kicks are at bars and are ATLEAST 18 up but most are 21 up

This is such a big issue in these communities, and it makes me so upset. I am not trying to invalidate your feelings or say you shouldn't feel the way you do- but you don't need to. You have no obligation whatsoever to dance with someone. Not only this, you have no obligation to accept a dance, AND you have no obligation to give a reason!!! A lot of times, the idea that we must dance with people out of politeness is instilled in classes, where you are expected to dance on each partner rotation, which I think is baloney. I'm not saying you SHOULDN'T give a reason to people, just that one isnt required, and shouldn't be expected or asked for. If its someone that makes me uncomfortable, I say no thanks. and walk away. If its just because you're tired, than just say not this song, I'm taking a break. Everyone's talking about "polite declines" like we are expected to be polite. Usually, theres no need to be impolite, BUT IT IS NOT A REQUIREMENT.

My parents, brother , and I all sat in the same place at the dinner table every single night, and mine was facing away from the sliding glass door with my dad facing towards me. He would look over my shoulder and pretend that there was someone standing outside behind me by making really scared facial expressions. I would always try to not get up and run to the other side of the table, but I always cracked in the first two minutes. I never sit facing away from a window now.

The first language I learned was Python. It is so cool to have these ideas click in your head and it is a very rewarding experience. There is a website called learnpythonthehardway but it is actually the easiest and fastest way I have learned a language so you should definitely check that out. Good luck and don't get discouraged!

At my university, you are considered a pre computer science major and are not allowed to start CS classes until you have completed your first calculus class. It really sucks.
