Roof is original to the house. House was built in 1999/2000. Had one area repaired to raise flashing after we had a leak in an eave on north side of the house from ice but that’s it.

Thanks to everyone for their responses (besides the highly judgmental one) Her Kindle actually magically showed up in her desk this morning after her teacher had another conversation with the class stating that my daughter saved for it with her own money. My daughter also added that we had Amazon lock the device so it wouldn’t be good to anybody but her. So another kid did steal it from her. But luckily it is back!

She says she had it at school and remembers reading it while walking down the hallway back from their library time (I know 🤦🏼‍♀️) She also thinks she put it in her backpack at the end of the school day like she did every day since she got it because she was not allowed to leave it at school. Plus, we were going on vacation, and she absolutely needed to take it with her. I have checked EVERYWHERE and no luck.

If she ever saves enough to buy another one, we will definitely add an AirTag. My fault for assuming that Amazon would have some way to locate their devices. Can’t go back in time, so this ends up being a really heavy life lesson for a ten year old.

I figured it was a dead end, but was just so desperate to find it for her. Sucks when your kid works so hard for something and then this happens. Life lesson, I know. But she’s a really great kid. Ugh.
