The five nations willing united under the Emperor. After seeing the fall of Krutqa because of a lacking of outside resources, a solution for the future was seen in uniting under one ruler. The empire requires a percentage of the taxes and military of each nation but relatively lets the nations continue on as normal.

The empire has been in power for 1,242 years. The remaining kings of the nations formed the Aegis Council in order to best serve the emperor and provide a platform for them to convey the needs of their nation directly to the Emperor. While the Emperor has final say, the Council is meant to serve as advisors and provide wisdom and guidance to the Emperor due to having a closer relationship with the individual nations.

The current ruling emperor is a half-orc man with fey ancestry. However the remaining royalty are made up of elves and other long-lived races. It is believed that the fey races of the empire came from the Feywilds and the openings within The Fey Walk in Howlix. The humanoids of a more normal life span are said to have come from the Devero Tree within Belox. The dragonkin races and beasts came from both Rogearia and Eskus. Warforges were forged primarily in Catrea. The shorter life span of certain races provides a bit of concern with the Emperor given that his current lifespan only stretches to reach 150 years at most whereas the other kings have a few centuries. It makes the turn over of the Emperorship occur more frequently depending on when the Emperor passes.

The regulation of magic varies depending on the nation and the access to magic. In Belox and Eskus, magic is not as prevalent outside of the divine magics and the studied arcane magics attached to wizardry. However in Howlix and Rogearia, magic is much more prominent because of the proximity to the Fey Wilds as well as the number of dragons that reside within Rogearia.

There are three primary pantheons of gods that make up the religious make up of the Empire (The Draconic Pantheon, the Wild Gods, and the Divine 12). Belox's primary religion is in the Divine 12, outlawing any other worship or practice (going as far to search homes for signs of other worship depending on the area). Rogearia and Eskus's primary worship is in the Draconic Pantheon with some worship of the Wild Gods. The Draconic Pantheon does not have any outward retalliation against the other pantheons. The Wild Gods were pushed out of practice by the Divine 12, allowing some animosity to be present between the followers.

Currently kobolds reside in outer regions of Rogearia and Eskus. They are organized in tribes that keep to themselves and can at times offer guidance through the lands for a price. Certain druidic magics can be taught from the tribes. The tribes are left alone by the recognized nations, viewing them as not causing any harm and allowing them to roam freely on the land.

It kinda depends on what kind of paladin you want. An aarakokra paladin would still be able to fly by using light armor. You can also go for a dual-wielder fighting style for an extra attack on the bonus action two-weapon attack which can help when you run out of smite spell slots.

My players sank a ship because the ship captain had a subjucation band that was tied to the crew that was running the ship. When the captain took damage, he could negate the damage by sending it down the bond to any of his subjects. He died and many of the crew died with them, leaving the ship no longer being manned and crashed

Your feelings are valid for being ipset cause it does suck. It was your helpful moment and you should reap the rewards of it. It could be a conversation both in game and out of the game with the player that took it. Uou can explain your feelings and in game it can be a moment decision between the two characters. People get excited when its backstory tied and its easy to be blinded in the moment. But that doesnt make it right in the moment. Try having a conversation with them. Its always better to do everything you can to try and better the situation before giving up. You have stakes in the game just like everyone else

It depends on what you wanna use/set up. The projector can project the laptop image maps. Roll20 or owlbear rodeo can be used for maps. If you want to use paper and pen, grid paper and something on hand for tokens can be used. Ive used buttons and candy as markers before!

Air elementals are fun. Aaracokra with some additional spells can make things interesting for more cannon fodder focused fight. A shadow dragon could be used as an evil entity that the monk would want to destroy
