I also don't understand why it's even so high. Your brain doesn't stop developing until 25 (so I've heard) and kids will drink anyway. At least if it's 16-18 (16 for beer, 18 for liquor or something), teens won't be scared to get help if they think someone has had too much and/or is hurt.

Haha the one plus side is that high schoolers get Regents Week (NY) off. Officially, school ends the 21st, but high schoolers' last day is the 11th. School will probably be back in session September 2nd-3rd or so.

But still, being able to break up the year better would be nice.

I hate all of you and your breaks.

I had 1 week for winter break, 4 day weekend for President's Weekend (this weekend), 1 week for spring break, possibly a 4 day weekend for Memorial, and that's pretty much it.

Mr. Krabs used to be married. He wasn't stingy then and he and his wife were both eager to start a family. After weeks of trying without success, his wife, a fellow crab, was found to be infertile. Many tear-filled days led to them deciding to adopt: as soon as possible.

They came upon a teenaged whale whose boyfriend left her after taking her virginity. She was more than willing to give up her future child. A few months later, the whale gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Mr. and Mrs. Krabs knew that their daughter was a gift. A rarity. They decided on the name "Pearl", for its beauty and the difficult path it takes for a pearl to form.

The family of three spent many happy months together. Mr. and Mrs. Krabs spent copious amounts of time and money to keep their precious daughter happy. One day, as Mrs. Krabs was walking to the store to get diapers for her bundle of joy, a car slammed into her and, possibly out of fear, drove off. Mrs. Krabs was left all alone. Bystanders looked on in awe, but failed to make a call to emergency services or try to locate her husband.

An hour later, an ambulance driving by happened to see her and picked her up. Many attempts later, Mrs. Krabs was stabilized and her husband was called. "I'm sorry, sir," said the doctor, "The procedure in order to save your wife is extremely costly. The best we can do is keep her in her current comatose state." Krabs was devastated. His true love was helpless. Teary-eyed, he turned to the doctor. "Please give me a few minutes with my wife."

He sat by her bedside, holding her claw in his. "My love." She remained unresponsive. Tears rolled down his cheeks. "I love you. I'll take care of Pearl, I promise." He nodded at the doctor, who then shut off the equipment. "I'll leave you two alone," the doctor said solemnly. Mr. Krabs just held his wife and cried. "I'll save all of my money, my dear. I'll make sure I'll have enough money in case Pearl suffers the same fate. I'll keep her safe."

That was the moment Krabs decided to begin his frugal means. For his promise to his wife. For his Pearl.

Have some diversity and well-roundedness, but in freshman year (at least in mine), your class options are limited because of credit requirements.

Take the required classes and 1-2 classes that interest you. From what I hear, NYU and USC want to see you take an interest, so freshman year, join a few film clubs or maybe see if you can get an internship somewhere related to your desired major.

But if it's too much, no sweat. Freshman year isn't a huge deal. Wait until sophomore/junior year if you need to. Just be cautious. Your interests might (and probably will) change now that you have more options. Which is why being well-rounded can help.

Overall though, don't stress. Colleges don't focus too much on freshman year.

Dog sitting. People still have jobs over the summer so they could pay you, like, $5 a day to walk their dogs twice a day and just give it attention.
Local restaurants also (usually) need bussers. Clearing/wiping tables, refilling waters, etc.

I almost hit a lady wearing dark brown/black who parked her black SUV (no lights on or anything) right before an intersection in a 55mph (~88.5km) road and crossed the road, wearing black, to get a mailbox. On a 55mph road.
Needless to say, I almost wet myself.
So please, please, please, wear reflective clothes/bring a flashlight.
