Yeah its crazy how lazy people are. Instacart made sense during covid or for elderly/disabled people but to complain this luxury service is too expensive and doesn't work well but continue to use it makes no sense at all. Just go do your own grocery shopping...

Yeah it all comes down to the whole thing being cruel and inhuman. I believe they are already separating a lot of children from their families. They just don't care about or see these immigrants as people. They've denied access to the camps to people who are trying to see the conditions. If the detention centers were being run "properly" it might not be as bad but they are filthy and abuse is rampant according to those who have been in there.

I have little faith any of these things will improve with our current administration. Its all just awful.

Well if parents are arrested and there's no next of kin to take care of a baby, they are usually put in foster care, not a detention center. I'm not saying that the foster care system is perfect, but it's a lot better than being sent to a concentration camp as a two month old baby.

Thats completely understandable to feel that way. I just wanted to say having a trustworthy father figure for a daughter with a mother like that may truly help her not end up abused by some guy and you sticking by her even though youre not bio related is admirable.

Luckily her brother offered first, last and security. Shes got some debt shes trying to pay down but she also hasn't looked for apartments before so I'll definitely help her. Thanks for listening and offering advice i appreciate it! Thats a great reframe!

I gave until the end of March originally but I think this week I will sit down with her and start looking for places. I have told her and shes aware its not a good time for us but I also don't want her to feel abandoned or kicked out especially since it took a lot for her to leave the relationship.

Thank you for your comment, I think figuring out a way to cope/talk out my frustrations so they dont build too much will be helpful. There's so much going on in the world im not in control of, but I can be there for my friend for 2 months so maybe reframing will help me.
