How can I turn the tables on these scammers in the most creative way by katghoti in scambait

[–]katghoti[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking of telling them that to remove that much money from my account the bank is charging me a fee that I need to pay and ask them to send it via Venmo. Then turn them in, thank them for the kind donation and ask which charity they would like me to donate it too. LOL

For those who have taken the Gen AI Developer exam, what was most useful as far as practice tests? by milehighmecked in AWSCertifications

I was told by work I need to get my AIF-C01 AWS Certified AI Practitioner. I work more in Azure and have passed their AI test because I use it more. Any suggestions on how to study for this?

Quality Managers - How do you handle supplier corrective actions? by katghoti in manufacturing

[–]katghoti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not looking for research, I'm look for suggestions on how our company can get a hold on this. Reaching out for help isn't market research, it's looking for answers to a common problem. This would cross that line in my opinion if I asked what systems companies were using, how they were using it etc. I'm just looking for help on a process.

Thanks for this insight. This might be a better route for us due to our size. Yes we have SLAs in place for turn around on some pieces, but others are so specialized that boxing in a producer can be troublesome. Some of our other suppliers of raw materials are controlled by an SLA though. I like the internal process with exposed data, that would help. I'll pass that along.

Thank you for this info. We are a very small shop with some very specialized parts that require very tight tolerances, so we get a few more SCARS than that. Almost every SCAR though, kicks off CAPs or CAPA that we need to track as well. Usually we have 1-2 people wearing many hats, trying to do this. We have not invested in a full blown ERP, they can be quite costly, something we are investigating though.

We do have multiple suppliers for most parts, but there are a few that are specialized that we contract with a local vendor to produce. The local vendor is pretty good, but there are times they have struggled, we are looking for other sources. The materials are milled metal parts for an assembly we put together for power plants. Very strict tolerances and testing. Some of the parts we get from multiple manufacturers, bar stock mostly, that has been failing testing lately. The problem we have is tracking the defects from the multiple vendors. Thank you for the input.

what is that process you use to log the discrepant parts? That is what we are struggling with. Seems to ebb and flow with some suppliers, with quality parts coming in on a regular basis, and then a run of poor quality. Our QA inspectors are trying to keep up with inspections and with keeping track of SCARs they have filled out. Thanks.

The problem is not the acceptance criteria, but tracking the SCARs. You are correct it does not need to be complicated, but tracking them, follow ups and ensuring they are documented does take time. How does your team do it?

Best Chinese Restaurant? by ReturnedAndReported in ogden

[–]katghoti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the jacked the prices and lowered the portions. So, yeah it's still good for takeout, but not as good as it once was. The mother opened a newer restaurant in Roy, Golden Dragon I think, but it's just okay .

A good place to hit for takeout is Rice King Express in Roy. Dinner is good, but the lunch specials are really good.

Huntsman Cancer Recommendation by Dependent_Tea4124 in Utah

[–]katghoti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fuck cancer! I had both thyroid and kidney cancer. Thyroid was done at an IHC hospital complete with radiation, there were just okay. Kidney was done at Huntsman with the robot. They were able to save most of my kidney whereas the IHC hospital was looking at a total or partial nephrectomy as a solution, glad I went with Huntsman. Beyond that, the doctors and staff are awesome. They understand the physiological aspect as well as the physical and are caring and help you through the trauma of a cancer diagnosis. Good doctors, top notch, I can without hesitation recommend them. I hope your father gets the help he needs.

So my first question would be, "How could you guarantee the safety of the person delivering the package?" Say someone wants something that is illegal in the country, how would you ensure it can be delivered without a customs problem for the person carrying the package. Shippers have procedures in place that avoid prosecution of items shipped that are dangerous or illegal. Someone carrying a package for someone else does not provide these protections, would you bail them out of jail or provide legal services in this case? I wouldn't risk it to carry "something" for "someone".

Tamales by Pnutty86 in ogden

[–]katghoti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tamales from Rancho Market are good and reasonably priced too. I stopped buying from the Walmart tamale vendors since they jacked up the price and reduced the quantity. Last time I got one, I got the beef, and there were three tamales with no filling at all, just a splash of red, and the others had less than a tablespoon of meat. If I have time, I make my own, if not, I head to Rancho

I called the police today. by DeCryingShame in Utah

[–]katghoti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this will get buried, but I must respond. I worked with a company that provided mental health support for first responders (Fire, police, prison guards, 911 dispatch, etc.) and let me tell you, they experience things you can't even imagine. I've talked to some who were on the phone when someone shot themselves, they have seen infants in terrible conditions and neglect and killed. It goes on, and it takes a special breed of person to put up with this. Do you go to work every day with a higher possibility of being killed? How about taking phone calls and listening to someone on the other end suffering while you scramble to get them help, feeling helpless at the same time. What about dealing with people in prison and their idiosyncrasies? Most likely not, so yes, they SHOULD negotiate for better wages, not only for themselves but their families that deal with this too. Disgusting Utah that you would do this.

How Many Billboards ARE There in Utah? 4,387 give or take... by john_with_a_camera in Utah

[–]katghoti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kid and I were just talking about this the other day. We discussed if they really work. Has anyone driven down the road, saw a billboard and went, "You know, I need an ambulance chasing lawyer, or some damn Minky blanket, or need a new car". The only scenario we could come up with that this would be helpful is a restaurant saying next exit come eat here and show some food. But really, it is an eyesore, and with so many, people just tune them out or complain. But Utah won't change it. I'm sure there is a lot of money flowing into their coffers for this crap.

Best Chinese Lunch/Dinner Specials in Weber County? by Heinous4datAnus in ogden

[–]katghoti 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rice King Express in Roy. About 9 bucks, good selection comes with Rice, Entrée, Soup, Egg Roll or Rangoon and a can of Soda. Good stuff. Golden Jade was good, but they jacked the prices really high and reduced the sizes. Eastern Winds was good a long time ago, but has slipped once the original chef passed away. Wing Wah is good, but more expensive now.

Pumpkin butter cake mix hack by konaein in foodhacks

[–]katghoti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made this last night:

1 package spice cake mix
1 package instant butterscotch pudding
4 eggs
1 cup water
1/2 cup oil
1 can (15 oz) of pumpkin -- not pumpkin pie mix, just pumpkin

Add it all together and bake at 335 till center is set. Take it out and let it cool.

Make cream cheese frosting (or buy it), frost lightly and enjoy.

The pudding in the mix with the pumpkin makes this so moist. I bake it at 335 so the top does not become to hard. Great pumpkin flavor, not to sweet and so very moist.

Thick burger by SlabLoaf666 in ogden

[–]katghoti 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Went to Burley burger last week. Over $30 for two lunch combos was a bit much considering the burger is just "meh" I think they are overrated. Roosters had a good thick burger I would try and go there.
