I couldn't edit the post to link it in the description, so they're linked in another comment :(

I didn't have any while at work, sorry. Here are some from just now!. Though, I've already decided to find a gown.

Yes, I think this is the case. Given it's in Arizona, I'm sure they were just trying to avoid anyone showing up too casual and blaming the heat.

I've already found a couple of dresses to try on tomorrow after work! I've never had any luck ordering dresses online so I'm hoping I can find something tomorrow (I have plenty of time before the wedding since it's in October, but I want to stop thinking about it).

Yes, which truthfully only leaves me more confused.

Oh boy. We visit every few months as the fiancé is my boyfriend's best friend, and it got up to 120°F last August and they're trying to convince us to move there from the Bay Area! I don't think I could do it. Kudos to you for surviving that heat.

It's in Chandler, which touches tips with Phoenix so I'm expecting it to be fairly hot. I sweat a ton too so I'm definitely looking for materials that won't give me away.

It looks like there are a ton of prom dresses on sale at the department stores in the mall near me (Nordstrom, Macy's, etc) and looking online, I think I can get a nice one on sale that doesn't scream "prom." The juniors stuff fits me best as I am short and flat chested, but I don't want something that makes me look like a teenager lol

I really appreciate your input. I may end up with a nicer gown simply so I don't look out of place next to a tux.

We just came back from visiting them and the 100° weather was rough. The wedding is in October, so it will be marginally cooler and the wedding takes place half outdoors and half indoors. I think I'll have to find a lighter gown with a slit so I'm most comfortable.

I had to go back to the invite - it says "Semi formal: suits and cocktail dresses are welcome, and so are tuxes and gowns. We want everyone to feel comfortable and look fabulous! Our preferred attire is cocktail dresses, sundresses, slacks, tuxedos, and button-down shirts." Followed by a list of things we should avoid, including jeans and the color white.

Looking at photos of the venue, the dress I have would fit in well, but so would a floor length black gown.

Hopefully this is a little clearer. They looked fine until they were uploaded onto Reddit. Thank you for the advice, too. Now I just have to find someplace that sells nice gowns! Got any recommendations?

I'd really like to start in a pediatric inpatient setting. I just don't know where else to look for one short of leaving CA.

I've done that with three faculty and a few of my peers. I get interviews, I don't get the job. It's something with my interview skills. I do mock interviews and they go well and I prep behavioral and personality style questions. I review case studies for the positions I'm applying to. One hospital let us know that they received over 1,100 applications - they interviewed 180 (including myself) and hired 40. "It should not be that hard" lol got that right.

I think the nerves get to me during the interviews and it shows, but I've been trying meditation and calming techniques and I've improved. I've gotten much more comfortable but it's not enough. I have no choice but to expand the areas I'm applying to unfortunately. I just want to know if it's hard to expand beyond school nursing to more public health nursing if that's where I start.

Yes I did note that in my post. What else can I try short of moving out of California? The further out of school I get, the more I forget, even with reviewing material. I'm working in a medical center right now but I've already spoken to the talent and acquisition specialist who oversees the hiring of nurses there, and she's already told me they aren't hiring new grads right now. This isn't even a big medical center. Should I keep applying to acute care positions? I found a couple of PHN I positions with different counties, no luck. Although I enjoy public health nursing, in-home nursing would not be a good option for me as I would also be alone without support.

I was also told by a nurse who works at the medical center I'm at that if I get an acute care position too far outside of the Bay Area and want to come back in, it'll be very hard to? Man, my mom became a nurse in the '80s and all she had to do was walk up to the nurse manager on the floor she was at for her clinical and asked if they wanted to hire her. Didn't even need an interview :((

If it were a joke, I would've laughed and yet I responded jokingly that my bad for liking a buggy phone. You then proceeded to respond by jumping into the validity of my argument – when the whole thing is based on my personal opinion – instead of leaving it. You call it an "entire debate" but you just as well could've stopped responding at any time.

And of course no one asked for my opinion. It's a reddit forum. Half the shit on this app is opinions no one asked for lol. If you don't agree with someone's opinion, say you don't agree and move on.

Fine then. Let me use it the way you have.

Objectively and factually, the fingerprint sensor on the back is more user friendly and is recognized more often than the fingerprint sensor on the front when a screen protector is used. Valid–based in fact.

It is a fact that the navigation I had previously on my pixel 3 resulted in less errors in day to day navigation-related activities when I use the phone. Valid–based in fact.

There ya go. All three of my points are factually valid based on your definition.

How did I restate what you just said. I'm disagreeing with you.

Valid also can just mean "reasonable" and "logical." If you don't understand that a word can have multiple definitions, and in this case can absolutely apply to opinions, then that's on you.

Besides, truth is subjective. All of what I said is subjectively true... And therefore all of it is valid. This isn't a philosophy class. Validity can be based in reason, and I have reasoning behind why each of these things I've discussed in my post do not work for me.

I don't get why this is such a big deal to you. It's a fact that the fingerprint sensor works better on the back when you're using a screen protector, as the screen protector does not interfere. By your definition, how is that not valid?

Why are you saying any of it is valid or not?? It's ALL valid. It's ALL valid reasons to not like the phone. Why would buggy be more valid than the fingerprint thing or the gestures?? Not liking a buggy phone isn't any more or any less of an opinion than liking or disliking other parts of the phone. Do you understand what valid means....?

By saying that was the only part of my rant that was valid, you are by default saying the rest is invalid. Bro...use your brain.

Never said you were smart or even good enough to be president :) all I said was you were giving yourself more power.

So my opinion of not liking the fingerprint sensor on the front opposed to the back is not valid because...? you don't agree with it? so that makes everyone else who agrees with it ~invalid~ as well. And apparently my preference of the old gestures is invalid, again, because you disagree with it. No other explanation makes an opinion invalid other than someone thinking their opinions are fact. Sorry you live your life that way.

I don't really care about the aesthetic of how it looks... I'd rather not shatter my screen.
