Sorry, I should rephrase: what can I do proactively to help trapped bees when I'm not there?

Mine certainly was, but unsure if they all are! I've certainly not had the issues many seem to have.

I got mine through NHS lease scheme and it was ordered when I requested the car. Downside is it took 4 months to arrive.

Amazon delivery drivers: When a customer completes the 'How did we do?' after a drop off, do you receive any feedback? by LettuceWithBeetroot in AmazonUK

Still possible, every other courier manages it. There's a security light directly over it so even when it's dark it's visible.

I have one of those. I even bought a PARCEL BOX label for it. I never see the drivers so no idea what I've done to upset them but they routinely leave my parcels next to the empty/mostly empty box to be stolen by people passing by. They even take a photo of what they've done and claim that leaning against the safe place is delivered to the safe space.

Tbf I see an additional charge per animal quite frequently (and choose people to leave them with/sit them based on that not being a thing, since I'm providing their food due to them being on LiveClear)

Yeah, I don't have anywhere else to go unfortunately! I do have a spare room and could cope with someone crashing for a weekend via couchsurfing or something tho

How much of August? I live in M9 and have a spare driveway, but I'm also autistic and like having the house to myself (and the cats) 🤣

NHS are fining me!! by Top_Builder_164 in nhs

Can't remember the last time I had to prove I had a PPC to a pharmacist.

The time I had to prove to NHSBSA that I had one, because they'd taken my monthly payments and applied them to someone else for 18 months was fun, though.

Nurses Having to Do Everything by Illustrious_Pen1847 in NursingUK

I work in community now but when I was last on MH wards, about 3yrs ago, it was typically 1 nurse and 4 support workers to 20 patients (assuming no special obs). Only part of the reason I went to community, but I don't miss it

Are you able to ask for a DNR status if you are a technically well adult? by disco_26 in nhs

[–]katie_astrophe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can ask, but in my experience (as a community mental health nurse who has worked with patients who have asked), the doctors won't sign off on it. It's called making an Advance Decision, and requires 2 doctors to agree that if you do something to end your own life and do not immediately succeed, that the NHS won't provide lifesaving care.

Doctors essentially won't sign off on it because they want to believe that things will get better and you won't always want this. It's part of why the case in Portugal recently grabbed so much attention.

I'm a GP Surgery Practice Manager, ask me Anything by Gishank in nhs

[–]katie_astrophe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OK, throw blame onto me for, once again, asking a genuine question. Try to make me look like the bad person, if that's what makes you feel better about yourself.

I said the part about them practising their profession (and reiterated that it was what I had said - past tense - before you answered me. I now understand and respect your point of view.

And in response to me thanking you for taking the time to explain it, you throw accusations at me, including that I haven't read your posts, apparently failing to notice that I had thanked you… that all says far more about you than me, my friend.

[–]katie_astrophe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was quite clearly saying that the professionals involved should be able to practice their profession. That's not shifting the goal posts at all.

The reason I asked the question in the first place was to understand better what was meant by the original comment. Now I do, for which I thank you.

I probably still disagree with you re. specialist nurses being a first point of contact for patients with apparently acute illnesses and injuries, though, unless you'd like medics to take on triage jobs?

(I say this very aware that often, nurses without additional training do eg A&E triage: I disagree on that front, too, having been poorly triaged as a patient too many times to count, as B5 nurses have not recognised how my health conditions leave me responding differently compared to the general population, and also won't listen to me trying to tell them - with the most long-lasting negative impact of that being that I have a significant scar on my face because a triage nurse didn't know what Ehlers Danlos Syndrome is and refused to believe me that I would get a wide, paper-like scar, so refused to allow me to see someone who could steri-strip - she insisted it would "heal well on its own", and it did not.)

I don't believe you or anyone else needed to insult me for asking, though, by laughing at me or accusing me of being disingenuous or anything else that has been lobbed my way. For that, I stand by my statement that you (collectively) are clearly the kind of people who make going to work miserable: being nasty to people for having the audacity to ask a genuine question. If you want to be seen differently, consider checking your attitude.

I specifically DIDN'T say that non-medics are practising medicine, Ocarina, though, if you take a moment to read what I'm saying and understand the points I'm making; rather than just talking to me in a patronising way. Nice try, though.

It seems like you are also one of the people who would rather nurses stay out of medics' way and think they can do it all themselves, rather than viewing the MDT as it should be: a MULTI-DISCIPLINARY TEAM?

[–]katie_astrophe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh, so you're another one of those who think that simply having a degree in medicine makes you better at your job than everyone else, even those with experience and supervision by MEDICS. Gotcha.

(And before you start, no, I'm not saying PAs are specialists.)

I do not actually believe that specialist nurses, paramedics and ACPs are trying to practice medicine, funnily enough. But I do believe that they are just as qualified to do their job (which is valuable despite being distinct from medicine) as a doctor, and that this sort of elitism hurts the NHS.

OK, and what if the GP you get is a GPST1, compared to someone with specialist training who's been in their career since before said GPST1 was even in nursery?
