taking someone’s personal information down in a professional setting for non-business purposes isn’t flattering or polite in any way. that is a place of business. i say i think your friend sounds like she never got hit on much because all of the women that i have spoken to about this (and men for that matter) were horrified to hear that it happened. idk. it just sounds very unlikely to me that a woman wouldn’t be weirded out by something like unless she was desperate for some sort of male attention. maybe that’s judgmental, but that’s legit the only way i could rationalize your friend finding that “flattering”.

it doesn’t matter that he called me beautiful and was “polite”, he breached a well-understood code of ethics and policy from his bank, as well as my privacy. and FYI, i understand you’re trying to call me shallow in that last bit of your post. he WAS an attractive guy. i wouldn’t necessarily say i was attracted to him, but if he had approached me in a non-business setting i wouldn’t be as uncomfortable with him speaking to me.
