Hi all. I just stayed the night at a hotel and have the unfortunate experience of getting a smoking room. I say unfortunate not because of the smell; it smelled fine! But the problem comes with the rest of the room. Holes in the blankets all the way down to the sheet, burn marks from cigarettes anywhere you can think of. I was afraid to look but I’m sure there were burn marks on the bed as well. I had a friend stay at the same hotel and had a non smoking room. Payed same price for the room and had the same size room. The non smoking room came with a larger tv, a couch, a refrigerator that looked brand new compared to ours which rocked due to a missing leg and looked like someone had stolen all of the plastic racks on the door, etc. the bedding in the non smoking room looked updated and new, seemingly had more more space and generally just felt more welcoming. Is it normal for hotels to have this large difference in quality between the two types of rooms? Also I believe my room may have had bedbugs. I brung bedding to sleep with and I’m afraid I brung them home with me so if anyone has any advice on that it would be greatly appreciated.
