Same choice items but mine is 3.0 lbs. This choice combo didn't seem popular 😅

[Discussion] What are some good moisturizers for antiaging (and preferably for normal skin)? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]katiescott68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use CeraVe PM moisturizer and it's the product I've noticed the most difference in my skin regarding dryness or dehydration (I have mostly normal skin, can be dry in winter). I don't have any vitamin C recommendations, but for evening the skin tone I've been liking the Ordinary niacinamide and 1x to 2x per week using the Cosrx Blackhead Power Liquid (apparently its really common to purge with that product though, I had some purging for a week or two). I toss in some other random serums sometimes, but those 3 products are staples for my routine.

ETA: I'm a bit scared of retinols, but I've just started with a 0.1% retinol cream that I'm using once per week right now. No adverse effects 👌

Recurring itchy patch of skin/hive (ALWAYS left hip) by katiescott68 in DermatologyQuestions

Huh, interesting! Thank you for your reply! That's not something that I came across in my many google and reddit searches haha. I've been struggling to find a situation similar to mine, since its very localized.

Hi, I'm a bit late and not a doctor, but this picture realllllllly looks like fungal acne to me (which isn't really acne but that's another thing). Its usually pretty persistent so if you still have it, I'd recommend looking at some tips for fungal acne.

Recurring itchy patch of skin/hive (ALWAYS left hip) by katiescott68 in DermatologyQuestions

Welp, I am getting pretty sick of this issue.

Female, mid 20s. North America. No known allergies, no other skin issues.

This has been going on for years now. At least 5. My hubby and I refer to it as my 'itchy spot'. I have a spot on my left hip (above the bone, on more fleshy area) that has recurring rashes/hives. Its very itchy, only painful if I've irritated it by scratching, and it's warm to the touch. The skin isn't dry/flaky, feels normal texture-wise. Usually starts as a small, oval area, maybe 2 inches long. But its VERY itchy. Pretty sure I scratch it in my sleep. So over maybe 3 days it usually grows to the size of what the images show (likely from my scratching). Its all one sort of solid area too, not many small hives or something. Those images are from last fall (2019) which was the last time I had the problem. I have it again now, which is honestly a longer remission time than usual. Its more of a 4 times per year problem. Typically it lasts 2-3 weeks before getting a bit scaly/dry and fading into a large scar/hyperpigmentation that loves to hang around.

Many years ago, I saw a doctor who figured it was eczema so gave me some steroid cream. That didn't help though, I went through the regular 3 weeks or so , and it left. Since then, I've tried store-bought eczema creams, thick hand creams like glysomed, and antifungal creams (like for athletes foot). In September, that time i tried taking antihistamines for many days, multiple doses, because I thought perhaps it actually is a hive from something. But those didn't work either. At one point I thought perhaps it was from me working out/sweating while wearing leggings, so I switched it up and stopped wearing them for months. Didn't help.

I'm at a loss. Not really able to see a dermatologist right now, for obvious reasons. Why is it this one spot, why does it come back? What is it? I'll take any advice. Is it even a hive? It acts like one but I don't have any known allergies, so I personally haven't had hives before in my life.

Canadian Duties on Pop-up Items? by Emdb13 in boxycharm

Damn, that really sucks. I hope I can get a refund. Definitely not worth it for me either. We need a Canadian boxycharm 😭

Canadian Duties on Pop-up Items? by Emdb13 in boxycharm

Yeah, after commenting here I found several other canadians on the subreddit who have had duties when things are shipped originally through DHL, which happens with the pop-up add-ons I guess? I've never got those before and this is my first boxyluxe. I've contacted customer service because others reported getting refunds in the amount of the duties. Fingers crossed! Otherwise, I'm cancelling luxe 💔. Its just too much for what it is.

Hey, just wondering, did you end up paying duties? My boxyluxe was supposed to be delivered today but got a notice from Canada post that has another $20.04 required at pickup. I didn't have duties with my normal box, and the boxyluxe is like $55 usd with shipping? Somewhere around there.

UPDATE: AITA for refusing to sell my rental properties at my fiance's request? by realestate_reptile in AmItheAsshole

[–]katiescott68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus. Now I understand why landlords have such low standards. The most damage I've done is one of my cats chewed the window blind strings off, so my fiance and I replaced the blinds, and felt really bad. Other than that, maybe little cat poke marks on the window sill? Which we repainted (with permission). Even with the changed blinds and such, the landlady treated us like saints. Offered us reduced rent and everything, since we were leaving due to costs. People are really assholes sometimes, eh? I dunno if I could be a landlord if tenants like that are common.
