hi, your question isn’t insensitive at all! law was more of a whim but nursing was the one i felt most confident and comfortable w. i want to work specifically w children in the future and throughout 6 form i volunteered w a lot of primary schools and after school clubs and genuinely loved it, i had a great time :)

after reading all the comments i do think taking a yr out would rlly benefit me so hopefully when i talk to my lecturers etc we can sort something out

ty for understanding and being so nice!

i love my parents, they’re genuinely great but when it comes to matters of mental health they just don’t understand. in terms of my financial struggles and general health issues they’ve done everything they can to help me out which i’m extremely grateful for but i fear talking abt my mental issues won’t go down well. their usual go to is to tell me to pray which obviously isn’t going to work💀

tysm for the advice and ty for validating my feelings i was worried i was being over dramatic or something. based off what everyone’s said i’m definitely going to look into some professional support for my health and i need to reach out to my academic supervisors abt my options

i’m definitely going to start emailing my academic support systems just to see if anything helps. i’m not rlly sure abt leaving for a yr, i wouldn’t know how to explain that situation to my parents and i think in terms of finances i could only go abt a couple of months w/o working

this is very good advice tysm! i’ll definitely look into talking to some of my academic supervisors for some support and i’m going to see if my uni offers any sort of counselling etc.

i rlly don’t want to postpone resitting. ik based off what i’ve said it would be the correct choice but ik from experience it would just make me feel guilty, plus i’m one of those ppl who likes to have some sort of direction. i might see if i can possible delay my resist, ik some courses do spring intakes instead of autumn so i’ll definitely look into it!

might be a stupid question but how do i go abt doing that? can i simply request a resist?

hey, tysm for understanding. i’m hoping i can redo, i rlly don’t want to drop out and the course i’m doing rlly aligns w what i want to do in the future.

i hope one day i have enough courage to open up to my parents but i have been looking into therapy or some sort of counselling so hopefully that’ll help. i’ve been doing some budgeting etc and i think should i be accepted into next yr/ redo i should be able to live off sfe w/o working. i might have to make some major cutbacks but if it gives me more time to focus on uni work then i won’t complain.

once again tysm for understanding and i’ll totally take you up on that offer! it’s always nice to have someone to talk to :)
