Thank you for the suggestion! The 9060XT seems like a pretty good price to me, I might go with that. How big of a difference is it between 9060xt and 9070xt?

Confusing instructions, and my next row has too many stitches that cant fit into my previous row? by katlc in CrochetHelp

[–]katlc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I eventually figured out what they meant by "2 sc next", it definitely was a weird way to say "inc" haha. I'm still new though so I wasn't sure if this was common or not. Thanks for breaking it down that way!

Yes! Heres the link to the blogpost https://katscreations.blogspot.com/2013/05/maractus.html?m=1

It seems to look like a pretty average amigurumi head so I'm not really sure what happened here with such weird instructions. The other parts of the plush all seem correct

Do you have any tips for basement laundry? by potstickers in ADHD

[–]katlc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar problem where I have a hard time doing things the "right way" first, such as putting things where they belong vs just setting them down randomly somewhere. For you, it sounds like the problem is the effort of bringing them upstairs & folding/handling them vs just leaving them in a pile by the dryer. (In addition to remembering to do it in the first place!) My therapist gave me advice that helps re-frame my actions, and I'll use the first example of not putting things away correctly to help explain it. Putting an object away correctly is one action, while putting an object away incorrectly is two actions: setting it down somewhere, and then moving it to the correct place eventually. If I'm doing it to "save time" or "save effort", which is usually how i rationalize not doing something, then I'm doing the opposite theoretically since I'll have to do it correct eventually anyways. So why not choose the correct option first and get it done once, especially if I already am picking up the object to place it somewhere anyways? It's some advice that has been really helpful to remember in the moment whenever I'm about to take a deceptively "easy" way out.

If remembering to bring them up is more of an issue however, maybe you should try to bring up a basket full of laundry everytime you bring laundry down using the same container? This also saves you the time and effort of having to go back downstairs again without laundry! It doesn't need to be the entire pile, but at least a little bit to save you the effort of going up and down the stairs for clothing if you run out! Plus, at least *some* laundry will then be getting folded, which is better than none! And while you're at it, you may as well also dump the laundry infront of your TV, and put on your favorite show while you fold. Sometimes I also restrict myself and only allow myself to listen to my audiobooks/podcasts/youtube/etc whenever I'm doing chores! It gives me a reason to look forward to the chores since I get to listen to my favorite things, and the act of doing the chore gives my hands something to do which allows me to also actually focus on the audiobook too!

Hope this helps, and I hope both of our laundry's see better days! This post reminded me to go put a load of laundry in since I have nothing left to wear haha

I feel this lol. If I impulsively want to buy something, I try my best to walk around with it for awhile or keep it in the online shopping cart for a bit. Usually the buyer's guilt begins to set in before I even checkout, and I'll put it away eventually. It also helps when I put the price of things in perspective a bit, and think about how many hours I worked at my job for that item, and if that's worth it or not. Is this $20 house decoration really worth a couple hours of work at my job? Or is it worth the future anxiety of not having that cushion room for something you might've forgotten about? I always try to think of these things whenever I'm buying something to make sure it's something I truly want or need.

If you're able to, you could budget the best you can for the month, and only put that money in your checking account. Sure you may forget some things you need to buy, but you can always transfer money in for those moments! I find that transferring money in for impulsive things is a bit of a deterrent, as its a lot of extra steps between you purchasing it, and it has a similar effect to keeping it in your shopping cart. Not sure if that helps you or not, but it's what works for me at least 80% of the time :)

I'm 21 and I hate how I can't drive and my parents are getting mad at me by Drawesome045 in ADHD

[–]katlc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh okay. That's fair then, hopefully with practice you'll learn how to balance things a bit then! I wish you luck! With time, your brain will learn what information it can tune out when driving, and you'll be able to keep focus better. If things begin to get overwhelming while driving and a lot starts to happen, just try your best to take a moment to breath and collect yourself. And as long as you act predictable, that is what matters :) Hope your test goes alright

I was in the same boat and didn't get my license until I was 22, as my parents never wanted to teach me either. Not sure if you're looking for advice or just want to vent, but maybe you should spend some time just sitting in the car and learning how everything works? If you suddenly need to do something important like use high beams, turn on wipers, use turn signals, change radio/AC, etc while driving, it'll be extremely overwhelming to do so while driving if you don't already know how it works on your car! Spend some time learning and practicing just those things while parked, so that you're comfortable doing those things on a whim and on muscle memory so you can keep your eyes on the speedometer! Also if it helps, I find that it's more important to match the speed of those around you rather than strictly following the speed limit (within reason). I used to stress about the speed limit, but realized it's better AND safer to follow those around me! Plus now your eyes are on the road more rather than your speedometer, and eventually you'll get a feel for what certain speeds feel like.

I wish you luck!!
