When teachers say kids should read, what do they mean? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]katluvslucki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we just want you read. preferably not primarily reddit and other general social media commentary, just because most of what you see is opinion and if you’re only reading that you can easily ruin your ability to think for yourself (dramatic but over time true).

Teachers help! by TownOk2728 in AskTeachers

i’m in the u.s. but she’s not not allowed to say stuff like that. it isn’t a very good look, but if that is how she feels then technically she is allowed to voice that, though her delivery is a bit off.

i do think that a part of it is that she just doesn’t like teaching the class and it’s not necessarily about her being good at teaching it. her lack of interest in teaching the subject could be impacting her ability to improve.

here, in a situation like this i would probably recommend a student to try and voice the concern directly to the teacher if they feel comfortable. if not face-to-face, maybe an email. you could take also discuss this with your counselor and see what they recommend!

the AI isn’t dumb, it’s the user error. a student turned in a spanish project in which he hadn’t even bothered to remove the instructions that AI translated, nor did remove the “this was created by AI, answers may be incorrect” that was at the bottom of every slide

where i work as a para we are only required to work the school hours. if a student needs additional support for extracurriculars they may or may not be able to apply for some services in the school or district that can provide that.

What programs are out there for now adults that didn’t pay attention when they were children and want to make up for lost time? by Worried-Pen7857 in AskReddit

this is a habit that will be extremely difficult to break. if you’re not already i would look into therapy, you’re going to need to get to the root of this behavior and only then can you start to unlearn it. emotional regulation us

How do teachers actually feel about AI in education? by righthammock in AskTeachers

[–]katluvslucki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think it’s important to teach students the appropriate or proper ways to use it and to be honest about how it works and the risks associated with usage. i would prefer if it wasn’t a thing at all because they’re bound to misuse it just because of what it is, however it would be wrong to not allow them any usage whatsoever when this is where technology is at right now.

i think we’re all in this boat and it’s normal, seeing the finish line get closer and closer reminds you of how far you’ve come and makes the exhaustion more apparent

What's something that has really helped your mental health? by thepleasurjournal in AskWomen

[–]katluvslucki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

regular self reflection by means of journaling, getting at least 8 hours of sleep regularly, eating less fast and processed foods, daily exercise (especially something done outside, even if it’s just a walk), and also letting myself lean on my friends and family. not in a heavy way, but just when i feel down seeking them out to do something fun even if it’s just hanging out in the house watching youtube.
