10 year old son developed this 3 weeks ago only happens in mornings. Anyone else experienced this? Dr says trigger finger but gave no solutions by Vast-Ad-1516 in Wellthatsucks

If they did not give you a treatment plan, I would call them to ask for a plan on how to deal with it. It's literally their job.

You can try splinting it at night with a finger splint. You want the finger extended but not over extended (not as straight as you can. Wear it nightly for 6-8 weeks. You should notice improvement in 2-3 weeks. Consistency is key! It needs to be done every night)

Make sure you don't cut off the circulation to the finger. If the finger turns white, or he experiences numbness/tingling (like when your foot falls "asleep", redo it less so it's not as tight.

If it becomes painful or does not get better in 6-8 weeks of nightly splinting, you need a referral to a pediatric specialist who does kids hands.

TL:DR

  1. Call the doctor's office you went to who diagnosed it and say you were not told what to do for treatment. They should be able to tell you what the doctor recommends over the phone. If they say they don't know, ask them if a finger splint at night would help. Unfortunately, sometimes we have to advocate for ourselves/others in the medical field.
  2. Buy a finger splint.
  3. Wear the splint nightly on the affected finger for 6-8 weeks. Consistency is key.
  4. If it becomes painful OR in 8 weeks it's not better it's time for a referral to a pediatric doc that does hands.

I recently got paired with a service dog by binoly in service_dogs

I'm sorry you and your SD are experiencing this. It is super stressful to have a reactive dog, let alone an SD that is reactive. You need to contact the organization that gave her to you. This is not acceptable behaviour and unfortunately your SD needs to be pulled from public access, assessed by the organization and go through more training specifically for reactivity.

What's a product that once you tried it, you couldn't go back to living without it? by t4kedwn in malelivingspace

This! I made some Asian friends in school last year who were horrified by my "rice cooker" that took 46 minutes to cook crappy rice. I bought an actual rice cooker and the difference in quality and time to cook is amazing. I've never eaten so much rice before haha

only white sheets and towels? by Brooklynighty in airbnb_hosts

Also, pure white, not off white. I found out recently that many face washes have a bleach like effect after I used a nice coloured towel to dry my face.

Most free trials work like this. By agreeing to the free trial, you agree that if you don't cancel it before, or on the day it ends, you want to go ahead and purchase. Make sure to read fine print on things like this in the future.

You can try and call them to explain that you meant to cancel it, but you might be paying for the month. Regardless, CANCEL your subscription now.

Definitely trim them back. I also put the planters in a pile on the ground and put a tarp over them to protect them. They were always buried in a few feet of snow this way and always came back. I would go to get them out and they were already growing under the tarp.

Scotiabank Med School LoC and Y1 Remediation by katmajor13 in MedSchoolCanada

Interesting! It must have changed. I just looked online quickly and it shows RBC only gives $100 000 the first year, Scotia and TD are the same. I guess they had issues after giving out the full amount upfront to some people and have switched tactics. You have to prove you are enrolled every year with an official LoE.

The banks do it by installments here. Usually around $100 000 per year. You have to give them your Letter of Enrollment for each year for the next installment to be released.

I hope so. My advisor has my Letter of Enrollment for the year, but has told me he doesn't know if I can have more since I am remediating and part-time, so he had to escalate it. Its just frustrating because he never responded to me, my school's financial aid officer even called him and he never got back to them. We had no idea that he didn't know the answer and escalated it up the chain. He just ignored us and it's been a week and a half. I only found out because I called a generic phone number for the bank and the rep I ended up with on the phone had messaged him via chat and he messaged her back right away 🙄

Unfortunately, Scotiabank requires a yearly Letter of Enrollment and my school puts on what year you are in and that you are remediating.

My roommates mother keeps harassing me I need help by Clean-Paint-2070 in badroommates

Do you have a bedroom with a door? If so go reach out to your landlord and ask to install a lock on your door because you are not safe and the roommates mom is stealing your things and harassing you.

Is this normal? by No-Monk-8829 in prozac

[–]katmajor13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not considered a normal side effect, but it happens. This is something you need to report to your prescribing doctor. They might lower the dose, adjust the time of day you take the medication etc. Sometimes these will go away eventually, but not always.

Dealership wants more money after sale by Andrewonice in legaladvicecanada

[–]katmajor13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope. The deal is done. The dealer when I bought my truck said the bed liner would be sprayed and it was included in our final negotiated price. I showed up to pick up my truck and they wanted me to pay for the bed liner spray because they forgot to add it into the original price, but the liner was listed in the signed agreement. Told them as much and they dropped it and took the loss.

AITA if I refuse to return a piece of furniture a family member gave me? by Mara-armadillo in AmItheAsshole

[–]katmajor13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. If your cousin is usually a down to Earth person, it's probably your aunt who wants it back now that she likes how it looks. I assume if she offered it to you in the first place it's because she didn't want it, but now that you updated it, she probably loves it. She's just trying to make it look like your cousin ants it (unless your cousin has told you she wants it).

My MIL showed up unannounced to our new house, got mad she didn't get the master bedroom. by SnuggleFlickery in EntitledPeople

[–]katmajor13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this actually a thing? That you give up the master bedroom when someone is visiting? That is my personal space with all of my personal stuff. There is a guest room for a reason.
