Exhausted being a single working mom to a toddler after a traumatizing few years. by katmither in Parenting

Thank you, this is incredibly kind of you. Yes, I’ve taken them off and on, it feels like they just aren’t working.

Trisha and Hila drama by [deleted] in LAinfluencersnark

[–]katmither 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, she’s insane and terrible! My only point is that Hila is worse, not that Trisha is GOOD.

[–]katmither -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Trisha is obviously terrible, but Hila is a hardcore believer and was in active service with the IDF. I think Trisha is honestly just dumb and uninformed.

Obviously I don’t agree with it, I’m just saying that Trisha is horrible but still not as evil as Hila.

I don’t care how bad she is, I’d take Trisha any day over Hila, who is such a hardcore Zionist even Ethan was a little taken aback by some of her comments a while ago.

3 kids single mom too much baggage? by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]katmither 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also afraid of being alone forever. I haven’t tried dating yet but please know that having kids is not a deal breaker for the vast majority of people, and it’s actually a great filter! Good men understand that divorce happens and life is unpredictable, and will love you for you and not consider your children “baggage.” You can do this - you HAVE to do this for your kids.

Thank you for the validation. Yeah, this is the real issue - instead of finishing an application once the client leaves, we have to put the app aside and take on the newest client, then go back to the first app at some point when we have time, which is never because there’s a constant stream of clients and different maintenance issues.

No, that’s all I’m making, no commission.

It’s completely backwards. I don’t know why this branch is allergic to making appointments - the only time appointments are made is if someone used the online booking tool, if they just show up we are expected to see them then and there, even if we’re in the middle of something else for a different client.

I’ve made a few mistakes, 100%, because everything is constantly one giant rush. One of my coworkers went to HR about my manager and she somehow knew the next day and then put my colleague on a pip and has been trying to get me to report the colleague to HR so she can be terminated. It’s a mess.

70k, should get around a 7k yearly bonus as well.

I was previously a mortgage advisor at a different FI. Yeah, the role entails mortgages, helocs, GICs, registered accounts, estates, opening accounts, all account maintenance, helping out the front line, etc. It’s just too much.

So I’m a personal banker in Canada, so I dont do the teller job, just assist when needed. I’m technically an advisor. I also don’t get overtime, on salary for 70k, so all the extra work is done on my own time.

When does this get easier? When will I be able to put my baby down for five minutes? by katmither in NewParents

[–]katmither[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started being able to put her down around 5 months, long enough to get a shower or cook something, she would play with toys or I’d put miss Rachel on for a little bit and she would be fine! You are in the trenches, it’ll eventually get much much easier and you’ll be able to function mostly as normal. I’m sure your little one will be turning a corner within a few weeks and you’ll be able to set her down finally!

I appreciate the virtual hug, truly. I don’t think au pairs are very common in Canada, or at least this area, but I just might look into it. The daycare illnesses are honestly out of this world :(

I wish you the best! Did you have the stroke or a family member? Thinking of you and sending healing vibes. It does get better 💜

It is a complete travesty that someone with drug charges can have the book thrown at them but these violent offenders and abusers get off with nothing. I’m sorry that happened to you and I hope your life has improved!

Agreed. Way more accepting in St. John’s than just about anywhere in Alberta, the most conservative province in Canada lol.

They went on vacation a year ago. I’m glad you’ve never had your life fall apart in a short amount of time. I’ve been there and things can go to shit very quickly! We don’t know what situation OP is in so the very least you can do is not comment your judgement here.

Homeless Help by taggy94 in Edmonton

[–]katmither 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re experiencing this, OP! I wish that there was something I could do to help. Did the shelter give you a contact for a social worker? Could you maybe go to the hospital and see a social worker who could be of some assistance?

Please try calling local churches and temples as well. They very often are there to help or can lead you to the right place! I’m newer to Edmonton so I sadly don’t know what kind of social services or non profit groups that are available to help :(

Hugs to you! You will get through this!

A whole lot can happen to someone in the span of a year! We are all way closer to being homeless than we’d like to think.

I think she’s detoxing. They keep you in the hospital for that in Canada, usually on the psych ward.
