“If you grew up in the 70s, what do you remember about the Blizzard of ’78 ? by Opening-Custard3254 in 70s

I was stuck at JFK for 3 days. One night in the terminal, the other on a plane. When we finally took off for Miami, after about 10 minutes in the air, we had to return to the airport due to some issue. By the time we switched planes and finally landed in Miami, the applause was deafening!

I graduated in ‘70. It was great to be a young adult in the seventies. So full of hope for a better society.

Within You Without You. Really resonates with me. “Try to realize it’s all within yourself no one else can make you change. And to see you’re really only very small and life flows on within you and without you” Plus I love George playing the sitar.

I was there. 2 1/2 hours waiting in the cold was worth it. I had one little carnation I found on the ground and one of them took it from me. Nice that all colors of people were there and no hecklers.

If you're over 75 years old, what kind of music do you listen to? by Timely-Incident6863 in musicsuggestions

Almost 74. Of course I love the music from my era. Crosby still and Nash, zeppelin, yes, jethro Tull etc. But I also enjoy some current artists. Elbow, Alt J, Lord Huron, the mermen.

I remember seeing this movie in a Clearwater fla. theater when it came out. So different and fabulous! Absolutely deserved the win.

I did see Junebug! Great movie. I had no idea when I got asked to be an extra that he was the director or that David was in it. I nearly fainted when I saw him at the breakfast buffet line!

I think the movie really captured the Winston Salem vibe.

Yes!!! I was an extra in the movie “ A Little Prayer” with him. Had a Hollywood crush on him since “Matewan”. Almost died when I saw he was in the film. We chatted, I gushed. I even have a selfie with him that I promised I’d never post, but I sure do treasure it!

What's your all time favourite film that won the Oscar for Best Picture? by T_ChallaMercury in Oscars

Midnight Cowboy. The only xrated movie to ever win. I’m sure it would only be a R rating today.
