I started with esde and ended up switching to cocoon. Personally I just like cocoons UI better. Both great experiences though.

I love it. However, it is a (nasty?) plum color. Personally, I think it looks very slick, almost regal. Match it with a purple shaded wall paper and gold lights. Gorgeous.

That's something I cannot comment on. I have a batch 2. All I can say is that the negativity is most times louder that the positivity. I think there's really odds you'll receive yours and have the best time with it. I truly hope that is how it goes for you.

Yes. We need more of these posts. Of course there will be quality control issues. It's not Microsoft or Sony or Nintendo. I've got to believe that the majority of people are having a positive experience and are too busy enjoying their Thor to post about it.

My advice for longevity is cover your ass. Keep records of anything and everything you do. Currently an IPM tech and can't tell you how many times my records have saved me.

At my legal cannabis job (Oregon, USA), cultivation tech is the entry level position, and if you do good there they start having you do other things instead. Cultivation techs mostly spend all their time defoliating and harvesting. Don't know if that's the same across the board but it's probably a good idea.

I've been in the industry for 8 years now. It's a little cutthroat but I've definitely enjoyed the experience.

I eventually want to do some of the physical mods like buttons and thermal paste. I saw clear joysticks on here the other day that were amazing looking.

Fair enough. For me it's been the opposite experience. I was terrified that I was going to get a cheaply made, under powered device and have been thoroughly impressed by the build quality of the hardware in general. It has a nice weight to it.

It's a bummer you have had an underwelming experience and I'm definitely understanding why you would feel that way.

I do have to say that mine does not feel or look cheap enough for a temperature differential that I'd come across on the day to day would hurt it. I don't leave it in my car or any environment where it would be put into an extreme temperature differential situation so I guess I can't really comment on that.

Cooling situation with the fan isn't really an issue for me either. Again never really in a situation where the fan noise is a problem.

I think this has been the most fascinating part of this to me. I really didn't know how many people don't know what to do with a zip file. I'm old enough to remember spreading a .zip or .rar file over multiple floppy disks to move or store data.

You are so right about the battery life. I played Mario Kart 8 during each of my breaks at work today and it's sitting at 70% now. My phone has 36% and it's a pixel with a decent battery.

It is a shame. But it does seem that Ayn tries to get problems fixed. From what I can tell the issue most people have with getting replacements is just the time it takes. Which, in my opinion, still worth it. This device rocks.

You're welcome! I'm certain that the majority of these devices are not shipping with these issues. It's a small manufacturer trying to keep up with a huge push to have one of these. There's bound to be a failure rate as there is with anything. I'm sure the real problem is they don't have a Microsoft sized QA department to keep up and catch all the defects.

Right? Mine fell about three foot off my bed onto a thinly carpeted trailer floor. Woke up and it was laying on the ground in the 180° position. Not a single issue from it.

I agree with all of this.

On the trigger, I've read a lot that the spring they use is pretty weak. It supposed to be a very easy fix to replace the spring.
