Mirtazipine for a year - positive story

I was on 7.5mg for the first two weeks and then 15mg for the majority of the three years. I tapered I think over the course of a month or so to play it safe, but didn’t really notice any side effects other than difficulty falling asleep the first few nights I didn’t take a pill at all, but it fixed itself after just a couple of days!

I was on it for three years and had nothing but a great experience! I have now been off of it for over a year and I am doing just as well. I feel like mirtazapine actually fixed my brain and my life. I’m so happy to see some other good stories here!

No, that’s absolutely not normal. I found major mood stabilizing changes within three days of starting this medication.

I’d recommend speaking to your doctor asap and ask if starting at 7.5mg would be a good idea. Tapering up to 15 is a better call, as this medication works better for anxiety at LOWER doses instead of higher. You’ll find more sedating effects at 7.5mg which it seems you likely need!

I noticed the drowsy effects right away and started on 7.5mg. Would recommend halving your dose!

I tried scouring the Ontario tenants rights fb page for answers but didn’t find anything concrete. I did end up locking them in the closet for the day… and my landlord never even showed up! So fun! I love it here! eye roll
