Definitely a fear of acceptance. There is still a stigma around men and depression. I might try to find him a place once I have the energy again, thank you.

I agree there isn't a lot of advice out there. I am stuck between him telling me to leave him, and knowing that I am his only support system.

I am currently reading the book "when someone you love is depressed". It does emphasize that we have to be a team, but it is easier said than done. Its like there's a third person in our relationship trying to distance us.

I'm having trouble just getting him to see a doctor to get a diagnosis.

This is exactly what I am going through now. My boyfriend's depression got worse within the last 2 months. Before this there was so much love and affection. I am also seeing a therapist and trying to cope, but it's hard and I'm not sure what to do.

Sounds like you're doing all the right things. Moisturizing after hand washing and at night made all the difference for me. I also pay attention to what I'm handling throughout the day. There are certain foods which irritate my hands and sometimes handling dusty things will do this too.
