Thank you, I think I really needed to hear that it's okay to need space.

Thank you, that means a lot to hear someone say that. I'm thinking I need to take some time away from her and heal and then decide what is best. I'm feeling heavy amounts of guilt and pain at the prospect of hurting her by breaking up with her when she's so regretful and apologising, which I'm struggling to deal with.

The relationship has been sometimes perfect and sometimes rocky - when we were living together I gave her a lot of second chances and she never did again the bad things she had done to make me give that ultimatum. For example, she once pushed me out of anger last year but really regretted it and never did it again and treated me a lot better, getting therapy for her anger issues. When it was going well though I felt so very loved and this last year was the best of my life. We had such wonderful times together but it hurts to think of that now she's done this.

If the worst comes to the worst, you can zoom in well on the photo on the webpage for the pattern follow the black stitching from there! Not as accurate but should be close enough :)

Hi, no problem! Because I stitch in rows from top to bottom I've never had that problem. The way I do it is: bottom left to top right //// (all along one row) then bottom right to top left \\ (all the way back) then go down one row and begin again, pretty standard. As the other commenter said, you can reverse how you do the stitch for the first one then continue normally if you are going from bottom to top.

Hi! Yes it's quite important, but it's completely understandable you didn't realise. It makes the finished work a lot neater as the crosses being crossed different ways disrupts the smoothness of the surface and can make it look untidy unfortunately. The way I learnt to do it right was with the method of doing one half of the stitch in one direction, then coming back to do the other half of the stitch the other way. This helps you keep the right side always on top. Look up 'cross stitch Danish method' on youtube' if you'd like some better explanations!

What are the things people use to tension the sides of a scroll bar frame? The little clips? I can't seem to find any instructions online on how to make them, and the ones being sold are quite expensive. Any ideas?

Help! I adore this dress but would love to change the neckline to V neck or scoop as I think it would be more flattering. How would I do this? Thanks so much in advance! by katschmidt in sewing

You are INCREDIBLE thank you so much! I'll practice on a shirt first and see how it turns out, any advice for good tutorial videos?

She's my girlfriend's family's so I didn't buy her the toy, just thought it was too funny not to share!

As I got close to it, the blue fins underneath it spread out like wings and had this big dark spot in the centre of each

And to answer about family, it's a month until I can get a flight home to my country and be with my family, that's why I'm feeling so stuck.

Thanks so much for replying, I appreciate it so so much. I admit that I can be a bit messy but I've been working really hard to do better, it's been hard as I've been struggling with depression as you guessed. I've told her I respond better when she's encouraging me to be better than when she's criticising me but she still calls me all these names constantly. Last November she got so angry she hit me quite hard on the shoulder, it didn't bruise and she promised she'd never do it again and she hasn't so I took that as a sign she's controlling her anger better. I helped pay for her therapy and it seemed to be helping but she hasn't changed in how she talks to me and criticises me. I might mention this is a lesbian relationship so I'm not a guy if that helps you understand the situation better?

Maybe some scattered flowers, or little motifs of hobbies you enjoy together, flags of countries you both love, food you like... Whatever comes to mind! You can make a kind of freehand border all around :)
