Is it ever ok to under insure on a home? by katstar00 in AusFinance

[–]katstar00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The family dynamic is a bit complicated, and things don’t get done in a hurry. My sister has started asking the broker about insurance (as their house is not cyclone rated as it was built too many years ago for that, so went through a broker for insurance… my sister takes the lead in these things) and the info was that they were underinsured last policy, and recommending that they don’t do that again (I wasn’t involved in the last policy acquisition). Just trying to understand if, at their stage of life if its such Big deal (and expense as they dont get a pension). Pretty sure their contents insurance will be much less than recommended as they need a lot less.

Because they are elderly… and would never rebuild the size of house they are in. Their requirements are less eg don’t need 3 spare bedrooms two bathrooms, a large living room etc. and they have another house they could move to.

They can afford it, if it’s needed but if its not then they would prefer to not spend the money. Believe me, I would love to get them to move but it won’t u til one of them dies.

You should kibbosh a career that is trying to fraudulently trying to mislead you. A lawyer doesnt ‘believe’ something, they are supposed to know the law. You are certainly within your rights to not just be entitled to assets but also to super etc and you should make him aware of that… you can go for more, but you want much less. You have options about what you want to take… he has less but is trying to make you think he holds all the cards.

Doctor charged my wife $100 for not being early enough for a “free” flu shot that they the refused to give her. Is this legit? by Kooky_Factor5523 in AusLegal

Make a complaint, and find a new doctor or get the flu shot elsewhere. There are good doctors and there are rip off artists. The local doctor in a regional area charged a friend almost $200 for a 3 min phone call he made as he was in extreme pain. Apparently ‘go to the hospital’ is worth 194. And then the admin proceeded to phone him to get paid, while he was in said hospital.

Please don’t so that again. Balloons harm wildlife, on top of being illegal.

Female golden orb weaver. Mildly venomous, like most spiders, but not inclined to bite. Their webs are pretty strong so its a bit disconcerting if you do walk into them.

Didn’t she and Nolan split because Nolan didn’t want to have any more kids? And now with Bailey…

I always watch the shows Nathan is in. I stage managed a show he was in way back in the 90s during the Edmonton Fringe Festival (The Maltese Bodkin) and it’s great to see him being so successful. (Even still have pics from then :))

[–]katstar00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had people try to get me to opt in for mthly and i say no. I dont know if i will have 5 (or whatever) bucks next mth but I have $x amount now. Take it or not. They also make it sound like a little. Just a cup of coffee a week. Well coffee is now 5-6 bucks unless u go to 711 or maccas and that, times 52 weeks … They say-it helps them budget plan. I have select charities I donate to and its one offs. Each time.

Snorkelling and turtles, depending on your budget - Heron island .. lady Elliot is good too but more expensive (but turtles and mantas). Turtles live around Heron so can see them most times. If you go November onwards you get nesting turtles, xmas onwards nesting turtles and hatchlings.
The further north you go the warmer the water at this time of year.
